Kawhi was fucking up a lot earlier this season too. It might be too late for Green to be expanding his game though.

It's off Omer.

Kawhi was better on the break than Danny Green in college, and he worked his ass off all offseason while the Spurs made it a focal point of his development. Danny Green got none of that. Yes, it's too late to develop him.

They should have traded Westbrick and signed Harden to a max deal. He is a flopper but he is also a stone cold closer and a guy you can build around. Letting him walk was a horrendous MGT call..

Spurs need to get it together. They are playing awful ball right now.

They are stil winning some but narrowly, certainly not nearly as good as they were last year at this point! It seemed they streaked earlier this year and mid year, since that some have gotten hurt and rhythm off and they are playing not near the level they were. I sense them losing a few more with OKC coming up and that #1 seed could go bye bye fast, hope not but it very well could.

Both are good players. Also, I didn't see too many people expecting to Harden to be the explosive player that he is, at the starting position. Mostly everyone I(that I saw) expected that he would be good but that he would need the help of bigger(at the time) players(ie Durant and Westbrook). I don't know, he is good player, OKC is still doing good without him, Harden has the money he wanted. Seems like a win/win to me. Too bad Harden didn't go to the East. Get him the fuck out the West. lol

Westbrook isn't that bad of shooter. He could be better though.

spurs may also sign some player from china, even some ugly one like monke bateer, but i guess the spurs are too classy to do that only to cater for someone or some country tbh. and even if they do procure a yellow star, it'd still be very hard for them to overcome houston who have yao's legacy

yes, but they had the zebras on their side

rockets are the 3rd most ref-favored team of the league (only behind lakers and OKC) and spurs fans have every reason to complain about the refs tbh.

:lol The Heat is clearly #1

Then the 3 you mentioned are after them.

I'd much rather play Memphis with a banged up Gasol or the Clippers over Denver, tbh..

Spurs need the #1 seed IMO..I realize it didn't help them in previous years, but that home court advantage is always nice to have down the playoff stretch..

With the schedule coming up this week and the way the Spurs are playing do you think they can hold off on that #1 seed? They could go 2-1 or hell they could easily go 0-3 (Doubt it), this set coming up will be huge to say the least. I hope they get a few wins this week.

Not really. As soon as OKC reached the Finals, Stern removed the officiating bias and let both teams play it out. OKC got exposed and got their ass beat.

Good game. Was pretty frustrated at the 7 to 5 min mark of 4thQ as da rox were settling for 3balls that were not going in (instead of driving). Looked like the spurs were gonna ride that to a w.
I agree that Harden flails around too much when he attacks w/ da euro step. In most other moves, he does not flop. He can cross the d over and drive to the cup for a slam -but he does not do that enough.
Manu used to flop on half of his attempts -but not bad tonight.
Still is frustrating how TP and TD act like they never foul.
Gr8 win for the rox for sure.

Duncan called the refs out on Harden's 17 FTA tonight. He said something like "not all of them were earned."

Ginobili's FG% on the last 6 games: 27.1% (16/59)

This kind of slump at that stage of the season is damn worrisome. :depressed

The Heat? Not at all. For being the best player on earth, Lebron James gets half the respect that Kevin Durant does when it comes to free throws. It's really quite baffling.

The Heat aren't ref-coddled at all.

OKC is obviously ref coddled. I'd put Houston (really Harden) and Denver up as ref-coddled teams before I mention Miami.

That's why I'd think an OKC/Denver matchup would be interesting. For whatever reason. Denver tends to get a kind whistle (especially at home) at or near the level of OKC. Is it because George Karl is so well respected in the league? I really don't know. Denver has 0 marketable superstars. Their television market isn't all that impressive (to my knowledge). But, for whatever reason, they consistently get a kind whistle.

But again, the Miami Heat are middle of the pack in terms of reffing, at least this season.

Sure, there were some travesties in the past in favor of Miami (particularly in that Celtics/Heat playoff series in 2012), but by and large this season they haven't really been coddled by the refs all that much.

Big problem right now. I think that's what's holding him back the most right now.

Tonight's loss REALLY hurt. Especially when we could've gone up 6 points when Green got blocked on a layup attempt. Now we have a brutal schedule coming up with Denver, LA Clippers, Miami, Memphis, Orlando, and OKC. I would be happy as hell if they could somehow go 4-2 in those next 6 games...

Danny Green should not be shooting anything other than a 3 in clutch time.

I said the same thing to my fiancé during the game. He has gotten a little better recently, but tonight sent him back to the preseason.

Not even mad about this loss, here... I thought we played well enough to win it, and I thought TP is starting to get back in rythm. The defense was there. Houston is a legit playoff team. Move to the next one.

For some reason I feel the upcoming games will go horrible and we will see what our team is :( I just do not get a good feeling about this stretch coming up for some reason. I feel 3-3 at best. Denver is very tough now, Clippers will be tough! Miami forget it, we will lose that one IMO. Memphis at their house! SHIT. OKC at their house, shit. I feel the way this team is playing they lose a few of those and lose that #1 seed ranking.

Nut up, Spurs fans. The next games are going to be tough, but the Spurs have always come out ready after tough losses. Tonight was a tough loss. I'm sure they will bounce back. At least TP seems to be rounding into form. The only real concern on the team is Manu.

It was distressing to see that the Spurs didn't get a better executed play at the end of the game. Having Duncan take a rushed-off-balance shot is hardly the best shot possible in that situation.

Sometimes coaches get too cute and out-think themselves. The rationale probably goes "everyone expects us to run the play for our best player". Guess what? The borderline-playoff Houston Rockets just did the exact same thing and were successful with it.

I agree, not with the stupid plays they have drawn up late in games.
