What are you laughing for? The NBA owners aren't going to vote their move to Seattle down.

Stern told KJ and co. that Seattle's bid is sealed, and all they have to do is match it, tbh.... with now two more big-money investors (Vivek Ranadive and Paul Jacobs) added into the bid, they can do it now...

they're fighting a fight that they've lost already...

A few weeks ago, Stern seemed to be feeding info to the Sacto owners, trying to get them to match the bid. I think Stern is onboard with the franchise remaining there. What Stern wants, the board of governors will provide.

The Sonics will just have to be reincarnated via expansion.

all this shit proves is that moving a team out of Seattle was a horrible mistake. I never understood why Stern thought it was a good idea, other than the Bennett/Gaylord ownership are his butt buddies.

Moving the Sonics out of Seattle to Methville USA was a joke. The Sonics had a Larry O'Brien trophy and 3 Finals appearances.

I'd love to see it happen, since
1) Fuck Seattle
2) LOL at the inevitable huge lawsuit staining Stern's legacy

Wtf is the problem with just making an expansion in Seattle?

Not to mention, the NBA has made it a priority for years to be the only game in town.... in Sacramento, the NBA would still be the only professional sports team in the market, while in Seattle, they're competing with the Seahawks, Mariners, and even the Sounders....

Also, Stern tried to broker an arena deal in Sactown just last year, then humiliated the Maloofs publicly when they backed out....

Saying that Stern wants the Kings in Seattle at all costs is just wrong and ignores that he's actually done a lot to help the efforts to keep them in Sacramento, tbh.... the ideal solution is to sell the Kings to the Sacramento group and promise Hansen an expansion team, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what ultimately goes down....

Wtf is the problem with just making an expansion in Seattle?

Because stupid ass:::we've barely got enough NBA talent to stock half the 30 teams we have now.

ideal case is stern trips NO of the pelicans and relocates the franchise to either sacramento or seattle, so that when another hurrican hits the US from south, the pelicans wouldn't have to share the same plain homecourt with the thunder

It would be hard to just add one expansion team. It would make sense to add two and no to an NFL-style division format. The question would be where to put a 32nd team. St. Louis?

Truth man. Can't even be sure of making the playoffs after spending $100 million on the roster.

Under procedure, the owners will not vote until seven days after they receive the findings of the committee, which means any decision will not become official until next week. However, the full body of owners is expected to follow the recommendation.
