People aren't buying tickets that high to see the Spurs play.

What's funny is that those tickets are three-four times higher than the first round tix

Did buy several fairly good seats on the nba resale site a few weeks ago [at a final price about 20% over the usual retail price] and they have risen almost daily as the Heat run off wins. I honestly wish I had bought 2-3 more and had the option to scalp = may have been able to recover most of the total price back of the various tickets I bought....as per the OP the prices probably still rising. However, if the Bulls beat the Heat the price will probably drop 50% or more, but the Heat still worth seeing at least once IMO.

One thing about the resale adverstised price on stubhubb or any like outfit [NBA site is really ticketmaster] is when you shop for the tickets around the arena and see the price per ticket = the actual price to purchase is seemingly always 20-30% higher for the fee and tickets and/or on some sites you also got to pay to have them shipped or emailed to you. It adds up pretty fast..

Best buy I have ever had to get last minute tickets is a Bulls Sonics Finals in Jordan's prime when at game time bought two suite tickets from a desperate scalper, including access to a bar food type buffet and a couple of drink tickets, for about 100 each - could not see the floor too well but the amenities were pretty good...

best deal I got was also from scalper when Spurs were still at Alamo dome.

Missed the first quarter but got fifth row seats near Red Mc Combs....$100 total.

Best tix I ever got were from being a secret shopper. Got to sit Terrace ledge and eat and drink all I want for free. All I had to do is write about my experience. I even got my parking covered and $10 extra.

Best tix because they were free. Best I ever paid for I was sitting and talking to Battier when the Rockets came to town. He was hurt.

tickets are expensive enough for a small market though, especially in an agriculture-oriented city where the median household income is well below the national average

"Agriculture-oriented city" ... and what industry does Miami have to speak of outside of nice beaches and rich people from third world countries parking their money there in real estate before the market tanked?

Funny but Miami has the same number of Fortune 500 companies (5) as San Antonio (http://www.city-data.com/forum/city-vs-city/1569336-2012-fortune-500-per-msa.html).

at least miami is a world-reputed tourist destination and i doubt any tourists would ever want to visit san antonio unless they want to instantly become fatasses

Better than ESPN where it will be called "The Lebron James show" with nothing but announcers talking about how great Lebron is. At least on NBA TV, it's a little impartial.

Funny thing is the welfare Hornets are asking for more(as low as 150) than the Spurs(as low as 35) for the upcoming home games against the Heat.

I agree that means most would rather see media hyped losers play in LA......

I would not go to a Hornets game unless the tickets were free so thats a feat if they can get that much for tickets!!!! Maybe alot of bandwaggon fans there though that will come out for the Heat.

no doubt the crowd will be 90% Heat fans...10% Hornets fans. Hell even tonight with the biggest superstar the team has ever had(Chris Paul) returning to play it could only draw 15,000.

Yes, but the Spurs can't even get tickets sold high for Heat fans lol, if they had a streak going maybe? I guess their fans just do not come out alot of times in SA. Sad set of events though on both ends of the spectrum when you look at it :lol. Glad you guys still have a team though there, one day they will turn that around.

The potential value of the 3 tickets I have dropped probably 200% last PM - glad I bought low [relatively]. Will be interesting to see if Heat now coast or go all out for HCA the rest of the year. Spurs have a very tough upcoming stretch so HCA in play with Thunder also in mix.
