The statement says Gardenhire became just the second person to be indicted under legislation signed into law by President Barack Obama last year making it a federal crime to deliberately aim a laser at an aircraft.

Obama did something right!

It doesn’t stop there, though. Gardenshire, in his infinite wisdom, also lit up a police helicopter that arrived on the scene to investigate.

Wow protective gear and was unfazed. How fucking powerful was this laser to faze someone in a helicopter? We can barely detonate a IED at 50 yards with a laser, so this ass clown had a photon torpedo?

I've always found these stories fishy. You go outside and point a handheld pocket laser at a plane several thousand feet in the air moving at over 100mph at least, and you manage to not just hit it but someone notices AND you get caught ? Good grief the odds of that have to be astronomical.

"... Adam Gardenhire deliberately pointed the commercial grade green laser at a private Cessna Citation that was landing at the Burbank Bob Hope Airport in California on March 29, 2012..."

These lasers are not a class 2 or 3A laser. They can blind you.

The beam gets bigger at a greater distance, also the glass over the cockpit can make it bigger. Its pretty dangerous and stupid imo.

Yeah the power output is probably 100X those, if not 200x.

LOL...

Some people have too much time on their hands.

Cool though!

I wonder what the laser power is?

Try doing this with an off the shelf laser pointer:

gJdf9pfS9D0

This laser is only 1 watt!

One Hundred BILLION Times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

No faggot, a hand held pointer is about 5mw at best. the green laser is 1 Watt. That's 200x the red.

You'd know if you weren't so caked in semen.
