Same skillset just height difference

Well, his 1 legged fadeaway wouldn't be as effective. He relies on his height and leg length to create distance between himself and the defender while taking that shot.

He'd still be a top-5 SG in the league at 6'6, though.

He wouldn't even be in the NBA.

Wouldn't suck but he wouldn't be nearly as good imo. His height is a huge advantage against PF's. He's a legit 7 footer. He's never been a great athlete, so he relies a lot on his height & high release to shoot over defenders. He'd still be good with that stroke, but he wouldn't be Dirk.

Great mid range, can drive, post up, pass, and shoot. Would still be a fantastic SF/SG.

The guy is the hardest worker in the NBA. He'd still be a legend.

Oh, and why the F would he develop the same skillset if he was 6'6"? He developed most of his skillset specifically to capitalize on his height.

Paul Pierce-ish

Holger designed him to play like this because he's 7 feet. If he was shorter, Holger would have trained him to be a different player. He'd be great no matter what, but being that tall always helps.

Also, if Dirk was shorter he probably would have been a great tennis player instead tbh. Everyone says he has world class talent at tennis but his height led him more to basketball.

He wouldn't be as valuable. He would be great, but he wouldn't pull an opposing big out beyond the arc

At any height at 1 ring in 15 years he ain't exactly the cat's meow. Not to mention letting the Heat take his cookie in broad daylite like that.

he wouldnt be as good, its not like dirk was ever "athletic"... his major strength is that he can shoot the ball over anyone because he is tall, thats what makes the mismatch, you gotta love his 1 footer and fadeaway though.. on a big man its pretty impressive

No. But, I'd be smart of enough to crawl into Artest's jock with him at that juncture.

I'm assuming that with his decreased height he'll be quicker, have better handles, and be more agile. He'd be an awesome SG or SF

if you only reduce him by size while keeping his strength, skills and quickness, he would probably achieve even more successes imho. a 6'6 or 6'9 dirk would settle at SG/SF where he can make the most out of his shooting skills, and he wouldn't have to waste much energy to rebound or attack the low-post like a legit PF does. dirk would be a white version of durant with better defense, strength and mindset.
