The defense numbers have gone down in March for 3 straight years.

Age? We suck? Injuries?

The defense has definitely been worse in March than the rest of the season:

http://stats.nba.com/teamStats.html?TeamID=1610612759&Season=2012-13&MeasureType=Opponent&PerMode=Totals

The defensive efficiency in the last month was 102.3 (which would rank 12th right now) compared to 98.9 (3rd) for the whole season.
What sticks out from the numbers is that the defense against three pointers has been very poor. The Spurs are suddenly giving up 3s at a much higher percentage than before, 42% in March vs. 31-33% before.

It's because Danny Green is playing lock down defense in the paint against the ghost. Sure Ray you won't hit that 3 I'm more worried about your dribble penetration.
