So far 6-3 and in first by one game ahead of the Tigers. Pitching has been great so far. Need to show more power in the lineup.

You're probably right, but I'm hoping they can be at least above .500 and stay in the race. I don't think there's any great teams in this division and the Royals have drastically upgraded their starting pitching. They still need some punch in their offense, but they're strong defensively and in the bullpen. I would be surprised if they won the division, but I think they can have a winning record.

3-2 so far on the road trip against two hot teams in the Braves and Red Sox. Winning today's doubleheader at Boston was nice. Starting pitching has been great. Offense stepped up today, but Hosmer and Moustakas need to step up. Lorenzo Cain has been on fire lately and bullpen stepped up today. Greg Holland was in beast mode with two saves today.

Three game series at Detroit this week to wrap up the road trip. Maybe the Royals can extend their early lead in the central.

That was a bad loss for us.

I would have liked a split.

All 3 games could have gone either way. Close series all around.

The Royals and the Pirates in the World Series this year. Can you imagine the ratings for that shit? No one would watch that. Joe Buck would bitch 24/7 about having to go to Kansas City and Pittsburgh. It would be awesome.

Split the series at Detroit. Nice. Big grand slam by Gordon in the 10th to win the game.

7 game winning streak. Finally above .500 and only 5 games back of the last wild card spot. However, the Tigers and Indians keep winning as well so the divisional title is much more difficult. Pitching has been great, defense even better, but the offense and bullpen need to continue to improve.

BTW, LOL White Sox for having a terrible season and giving away Peavy for very little.

Swept the Twins. 9 wins in a row. Time to continue the streak in Queens.

Mathematically speaking, Yankees v. Mets in the World Series is still a "possibility"

Took 3 out of 4 from the Red Sox. Still 5 back of the Wild Card and 7 back of the Tigers.

Despite a sloppy performance and their worst starter pitching, Royals beat the shitty Marlins 6-2. Cleveland, Detroit, and Baltimore lost while the Rangers and Oakland won. Royals are in second place now in the AL Central, passing Cleveland and 6.5 back of the Tigers. They're 4 games back of the 2nd wild card spot and two games behind the Orioles.

A big chance to put a dent in Detroit's lead, and you lost ground.

^ that's what's gonna happen when you pitch to Miguel

JamStone

I don't think anyone should pitch to Miggy with the game on the line, not anymore. Even if Fielder or Martinez beats you, I think you can live with that much more easily than allowing Miggy to beat you. Only time Miggy should get pitched to is with no one on base in the first 6 innings or if it's a blowout either way, like a 5+ run lead or deficit with either the bases empty or only one guy on base. I think it may have been either Joe Maddon or Buck Showalter, but some manager said earlier this season that they wouldn't be surprised if Miggy got intentionally walked with the bases loaded at some point. I'd still be surprised, but it's not as ridiculous a notion as I once thought.
