Not surprising. Glad Duncan is sitting this one out tbh.

I though TP9 would be out instead of Kawhi tbh Kawhi is a X-Factor in this game but eh I can dig it

Not surprised. Still disappointing after last nights loss.

Doubt we win this one.

Playing Parker makes little sense in that context.

I looked at the stats of Spur players vs Memphis this season and outside of Parker and Duncan not too good

........................ Okay now this is just getting ridiculous guys. I know the spurs say it doesn't matter, but I know they'd rather play the Jazz, the Lakers, or the Mavs rather than the Rockets. The Rocket's will run us to the ground in that first playoff series, and do we really want to play Harden again if we can avoid it? And what the hell Pop? Do the Spurs simply not play back-to-back anymore? This team isn't that old. If we lose the #1 seed, and somehow lose to Harden again, I think I'm going to be sick.

Thought Kahwi would play..

This should be a loss.. Hopefully they at least compete..

I would've sat Tp and Tim. Make Kawhi focal point of offense (Bulls game).

TP is still trying to regain his game shape after being out with that injury, so I can see why Pop would play him for some limited minutes, especially against a talented PG like Conley.

Conley is balling without Rudy Chucker . Averaging 16 and 7 without Rudy

With the Memphis's size and Duncan out, I would hope to see Baynes and his 6'10 250 frame and six fouls for once. Certainly nothing to lose.

I'd sit Tim and Tony for Wed VS Orlando but play Kahwi..

That way Tim and Tony can both play well against OKC on Thursday..

This should be a good game . I expect Zach to struggle . Expecting big game for Gasol and Parker

Pop

Yeah Baynes will definitely get minutes tonight. He should start like they did with Cojo and they should do the 3 big rotation with him instead.

We're fine with the 1 or 2 seed really. Houston or LA, it doesn't matter. What matters is that they get past the first round and get that extra revenue from 3 more home games.

Pop knows his team has all but won the division (to clinch a top 4 seed) and that it has all but clinched a top 2 seed. I suspected there would be rest built into this 4-in-5 set for everyone; while I had figured it would be Wednesday against Orlando, there are plenty of reasons to explain a choice to save his guys from a battle against a physical Memphis team that is scratching and clawing to get into the top 4. I also agree that playing Parker tonight is likely as much about giving Tony a chance to find his game again, though it wouldn't surprise me if Parker's minutes are limited tonight and Wednesday (if he plays at all against Orlando).

More likely a loss but this is just Pop being a dumb old senile man. Sit Duncan, I can agree with that and sit Parker because something isn't quite right but Kawhi? Geez, the guy is 21 ice his knee and get ready to play we gotta ride our youth now because Tim Duncan is not going to walk into that gym in 3 or 4 years to compete for a title. The time is now and the window is closing and its nice to keep HCA as well as playing an 8th seed. More than likely we'll see a heavy dose of Blair, Bonner and Diaw and very little Baynes, we'll go small ball over playing Baynes.

I would not be surprised in the least if TP comes out aggressive and our guys pull out the W.

Spurs will look much better tonight, and may not get the W but they'll sure as hell look better than last night. It's not like this team has never went "stumbling" into the playoffs before and still had success. Nothing comes easy, and these obstacles will only make them stronger come playoff time. Just throw on that OKC Game 6 tape again before the first game of the playoffs.

Parker said in his radio show that he was quite banged up. His hematoma on his ankle will still last 2-3 weeks, he has a sprained finger, his neck hurts since a hit with DeAndre Jordan and he has a knee contusion.

With all that, I'm really surprised that he will play against Memphis.

I don't really see the logic behind playing him. Maybe Pop really wants to keep the first seed and he hopes that playing Parker will allow Spurs to beat Memphis.

Maybe they need Parker to play to get back his groove. Still, the OKC game is the most important for playoff seeding. Why not hold everyone out and let them go for it in the OKC game.

I do agree but IMo Pop wanted to play Parker as minimum minutes as possible against Heat. The rotation was quick in this game. But still he could change his mind and sore his ankle a bit to sit him vs Memphis.

It looks like the spurs gonna lose b2b games.

It's funny, but taken seriously, as a Spurs fan, I am way more nervous about playing the Rockets than the Lakers. The Lakers are old and injured, just like the Spurs. Kobe's not near 100%; Nash has a bad back and can barely play anymore; MWP is out; Pau Gasol has missed a ton of games; and Howard has a bad back.

Rockets are young, high scoring team with nothing to lose. They have a top defensive center. They have played the Spurs down to the wire in almost every game. They are much scarier.

I am not nervous at all in regards to the Spurs come playoff time. I have no doubt that if their play and in particular ball movement does not improve they will be out in he first round regardless of who they play.

Even with as bad as they've been playing lately, the Spurs will get out of the first round. The bottom three seeds in the West this year are a joke. Even at their worst the Spurs are a clear #4 team.

If this is true wouldn't it have made alot more sense to rest against miami? They're in the east already had a 2 game lead and don't play another west team the rest of the reg season. And if you want to rest more rest wed than play everyone thur.
