I always thought Rose was barely an NBA player so I'm not the right person to ask this question. However, Scola could turn out to be garbage in the NBA.

Well, we'll just have to see Scola play before making this comparison. On the other hand, I don't think Rose could have gone to Europe and been considered their best power forward.

I hope scola is as good as rose in 99

It's hard to say-- not many of us have seen Scola play much.....so how can it be compared?

When Scola takes the ball behind the 3 point line, drives the lane, dunks over an aged shot blocking center, resulting in the most thunderous dunk of a finals series and gives his team momentum to win that game, THEN we can have this discussion.......

I'd have to lean towards yes, well, not lean, but fall over.

Of course Scola is, he's considered one of the best overseas PFs.

For those who have never seen him:

No opinion until I see him play in the nba. But if he can play 20mpg can block shots against guys taller then 6-6, not turn the ball over, not force stupid shots, and can actually shoot better then 40% then I will say "yes, he is better".

That Scola dunk capped off their Gold Medal game against Italy.

Scola is guaranteed to not flip his shirt over his head after lofting the ball out of bounds, therefore allowing his man, Darius Songaila, to run down the court uncontested for a dunk. That would never happen to Scola. That seems like a plus to me.

so what tschitivili (the guy drafted by denver a few years back). i think he will be similar to Songaila which would help us a lot

But IIRC, he was like 19 at the time, and had never played on a senior Euroleague team, never mind dominated. Am I misremembering?

not on euroleague, he played a season in Slovenian A1 league, and then left for Benneton. There he hardly played. No one believed he would be success in NBA.

He just wanted big money quick.

We have to wait and see if Scola > Rose, how can he own Rose if he hasn't even played in the NBA yet? :|

I hope he is better than Rose though, then that will be good for the team.

He'll be as productive as a good-era Rose.
