So alot of you have recognized the obvious which is that we are now in the contender conversation nationally and globally (I heard a report on the BBC today about the Lakers achievements making the playoffs) so with that, alot of you have also recognized that Coach Mike's defensive schemes for OKC are pretty flawless when our offense is clicking and we shut down Durant and make Fisher and WestBRICK beat you. So yeah, not too worried about the conference finals but what about the cHeat?

I mean they are the defending champions and also playing very good/well so I look at the matchups and obviously they are not horrible for us because we have Pau and DH12 down low and they have Birdman who sux. So why is everyone so scared? Kobe v. Lebron is equal and then we dominate down low. Pretty simple calculation.

Ok guys I apologize for making this thread it obviously does not seem to jive with the way most people on this message board think and it is only the 2nd thread I ever made and it was right after the Memphis game where we won and my adrenaline was flowing and maybe I got a little too excited. I had the chance to simmer down and I can see the points being made I still think we have a good chance to get to the Finals but for sure it is not a sure thing. Thanks.

Were you eight when the Lakers threepeat happened and just can't remember accurately? Because Shaq was a beast. I'm not going to turn this into a discussion of who was more responsible for the rings, but you can't honestly look at Shaq, especially in 2000/2001 when he still had that dropstep and footwork, and say he was fat and sucked. 33 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists? Good got dang Dwight Howard wishes he could put up at least half that consistently.




No I was 4 and I don't remember everything but I have watched those DVDs like 30 times and each time Shaq was quiet fat yeah he could dunk hard and throw people a round but Kobe was the one who facialitated everybody/one and Shaq was just a long for the ride of Kobe smashing peoples demoralization and reputations from what I saw maybe I should watch those DVDs again but it will be like times number 31 and 32

Yup...thats what I'm saying. I'm sure from a Lakers rival perspective it's different. But statistically, he has NOT been treated like a superstar for a LONG time. It has a ton to do with the amount of bitching he does on refs, the 2004 case, getting on Stern's bad side. If I recall correctly, Donaghey said Kobe and Rasheed are the 2 most despised guys by the refs.
