Which 5 Spurs had the best dunks? And I mean AS a Spur, so no James White or Richard Jefferson.

Larry Kenon-Competed against Dr. J in the ABA Dunk Contest
Ed Helicopter Jones-C'mon, the guy's name is Helicopter.
George Gervin was known more for Finger Rolls but could dunk early on, also in that ABA contest.
David Robinson - Mostly putbacks and post and spin alley-oops.
Manu Ginobili-especially against the LAL.

Here is the link for that 1st Dunk Contest:

David's gotta be #1 on that list, just for that tomahawk alley-oop he did against New York.

Ya'll remember 2001? Senor Loyalty brought the hammer down the entire season. In fact his injury in the playoffs was due to trying to go top shelf as Sean Elliott puts it. Too lazy to look up all of them but this one was pretty nice.

True - a dunk that helped win a critical game 5.

Damn I remember he was my favorite Spur when I was a kid cause he was the "cool" one that wore arm bands and dunked lol. He was never the same after Juwan Howards flagrant foul on him.

True - a dunk that helped win a critical game 5.

Stakes: Game changing play in a critical Game 5 in overtime of a 2-2 NBA Finals after 4 straight blowouts.

Difficulty: Went over and through a defender trying to draw a charge, drawing a foul and almost blowing out the shoulder.

Bonus: Hitting the game winning three in the pivotal win of a championship run.

:cry Goddamn I miss Robert Horry :cry

I was gonna say.. I didn't see a mention of the Derek Anderson dunks that year..

The Vin Baker one was sick, but he did the exact same dunk against Shawn Bradley that year too..

Who knows how the dunk would have came out had Juwan Howard decided not to attempt murder..

David is top of the list...he dunked in every way imaginable...his running the floor and catching lob dunks(reverse style) is what drew me, as a young kid, to the spurs...almost 25 years later, I'm still here. I remember in the middle of David's career, in his prime, him talking about how his brother would grade his dunks during the games...so it became a challenge to him to be more creative. Not every day you see a 7 foot center do a 360 in a game, on the break. Robinson was such an animal, it's a shame his game has been, basically forgotten.. as has the true center position. I miss the 90s.

This. David was an unbelieveable dunker..I know the exact 360 dunk you are referring to also, it's the one on the season ticket commercial, I'm sure..

As an old-school Spurs fan, I have to submit two votes for the following:

Edgar "the Wild Helicopter" Jones - former Cavs backup center the Spurs got in a trade in the early 80's.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jonesed01.html

A participant in the 1984 Slam Dunk Contest against the likes of Larry Nance, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Clyde Drexler and Dominque Wilkins, Jones, nervous at first, eventually settled down and threw down some fine work, although he didn't advance past the first round.

Henry Ward - a little known, 6'5", backup SF for the Spurs in the id 70's. The Spurs drafted him out of Jackson State. He rode the pine for 2 seasons and played only sparingly. He couldn't shoot, but he was an absolute explosive dunker. You name the type of dunk, this guy could do it. Because he hardly ever played, he used the warmup drills as his personal showcase. People actually came to the games early just to watch his acrobatic, crowd-pleasing dunks.

Well said. I'd put David at the top of that list too. In his rookie season, D-Rob actually led the NBA in dunks with 197. Don't ask me how or why I remember that stat, it's just something that stuck out and I never forgot it. D-Rob never did and still doesn't get enough credit for being one of the top NBA centers of all-time. He athleticism, defense and shot-blocking were off the charts.

Children, have any of you ever heard of Artis Gilmore? One of the strongest men ever to play in the NBA, if anyone tried to block his dunks and left their hand on the ball, the A Train would just put them through the hoop along with the ball. Most opponents just got out of the way.

Terry Cummings was pretty damn good too.
