Wow. Nothing's official but D'Antoni & Kobe both seem to sure. Kobe was teary-eyed in his post game presser.Hate Kobe but that's terrible tbh.

So who wants the Lakers in the first round now..?

Are we still scared of the Lakers?

Too bad we aren't getting the #1 seed, so we won't be facing them, tbh.

Yea don't think we're getting it, but that's an EASY sweep for OKC now tbh.

definitely see how upset/pissed off Kobe is in this presser on NBATV; tears

What, you think the friendly whistle is stopping now? The beat went on fine after he checked out.

Doesn't matter. Even with a friendly whistle they're not going anywhere. WITH Kobe they were barely beating shitty teams. They're an easy sweep for OKc now.

As much as the Spurs have fallen apart, compared to the Lakers, it's still nothing compared to what the Lakers have gone through.

Sad thing is there will still be folks scared to play the lakers on this forum :lol

What fun would it be beating LA Lakers without KOBE? I am being honest now too? NONE. If you beat LA you want Kobe in there for the series.

I'm with Baseline on this one. However, it's much more satisfying to get a W with Bean playing knowing that he won't advance.

Utah will probably pass them now unless spurs and rockets tank.

Which is very possible. I think both teams do rest their starters tbh. Th only question now is who's an easier opponent for OKC, Utah or a Kobe-less Lakers.

Yeah but it's harder to feign impartial reffing in favor of scrubs over the course of an entire game. The refs manage to do it for a few minutes, culminating with Steve Blake getting game winning free throws on contact that occurs all the time (if this was called consistently, each team would average 100 FTA/game).

They will probably get an illegitimate game or two in the playoffs, but I don't think $tern would fix an entire series for them.

Case in point last year they robbed OKC of game 3 to prevent L.A. from going down 0-3, but the Thunder won in 5 anyway, and L.A. is still a bigger money maker than OKC/Durant.

I'll reply to this thread as SpursDynasty:

No reason for pages of threads on this.
No point in arguing or hating.
Nothing special about Kobe's injury.
His achilles just went out there, helped him play 45+ minutes, helped him just shoot some shots.
Then it got tired and needed a break.
That's all, no big deal.

Fuckin' Kobe, I feel bad but the asshole brought it on himself. Great work ethic but at what cost. Sometimes, you need to sit for a couple of minutes man and now look at Kobe. 5 rings and a busted ankle. Looks like he'll never pass Jordan.

This is what happens when people in their mid-30s play 40+ minutes per game. Fucking moron. He deserves it.

Mike D'Antoni's going to be a wanted man in LA. Playing Kobe 47 minutes a night, even though they desperately needed him to, is never a good idea, and it caught up to him.

I was hoping Kobe/LAL to give OkC hard time (6-game at least) in the 1st rnd :( now not a reality anymore

I was just thinking the other day about all those minutes Kobe has been playing lately, and that he's going to get burned out before the playoffs come. Guess that won't be an issue now.

As much as I hate Kobe's guts, he is a competitor and I hate to see him go down like that. Hopefully he can get it together and finish out his career on a better note.

Big lose for the NBA if Kobe cant get back.
Career ending injury! Hope not!

Whatever. This is the same guy who game back after 2 games from the same "injury" that took Parker 4-6 weeks.

I'll believe Kobe won't be playing when I see it.

Lakers still won the game to hold onto 8th place, that's great compensation.

The Lakers have played great without Kobe since 2008, tbh..

If Kobe's gonna be out for the season, I wouldnt mind rooting for the Lakers against the Thunder. Its a stretch I know. But it would be the biggest FU to Kobe if they can play winning basketball without him. But I expect the media to eat that shit up like Kobe is Kevin Ware.

:cry Win for Kobe, guys :cry

With 50 free throws (and a +34? free throw differential) at their disposal, the refs have lots of leeway to influence games, so I wouldn't put this beyond the realm of possibility :lol

I agree, I respect his will to win, the spurs need some of that fire in them. The Spurs and Lakers won't have anything to smack talk about now if its the end of his career.

The Lakers should amnesty Kobe. If not, it's going to cost them $80 million. $30 mil for his contract, $50 mil in luxury tax. I know that sounds blasphemous to Lakers fans, but at 35 years old and coming off a significant injury like this, it'd be dumb not to tbh.

spurraider21
04-14-2013, 02:46 AM
if he gets amnestied, plenty of teams will bid amnesty waivers with the anticipation that he comes back around march and helps in a playoff push. a team like okc/dallas/new york would all put bids on him for sure.
