I hate the Lakers as much as the next guy. But i hope the kid can recover. Id be devastated if it was Tum Duncan this happened to or any of our players. As Tim Duncans career winds down after next year, its been a pleasure watching these two go at eachother for the last 15 years! Whever their place in history is, they are the top of the top. Im hoping this isnt career ending.

I appreciate the candor..Fact is 99% of Spur and Mav fan actually love Kobe...they've convinced themselves they don't because of Laker Nation fans such as myself..I see through all of the emotional rants and mean spirited threads. I've firmly believed all along that the most notorious of ST posters the ones that like to use hyperbole and shock to get their points across such as Mono, BR, Midget, DPG, DMC, HarlemHo and the rest I know for a fact they love Kobe and will miss him. It's like a boy and girl always arguing with each other...you know deep down they just wanna fuck..same concept here...I'm laughing at their attempts at feigned joy over Kobe's injury...

Kobe is the player of the decade it's hard not love that guy but it's easy to pretend not to...

:toast Keep it going "Haters"?

I simply don't believe you. As with most Spur and Mav fan your simply full of lies on the love or hate Kobe question...I know your kind you guys really like and admire Kobe but you cannot come out and say it...you guys remind me of Gay Republicans who always espouse to really really hate gays...:lol

It's ok to like Kobe dude...he's made the NBA relevant...the last decade we all owe him our gratitude...You don't have to show yours on this site I suspect you will in private when thinking alone

I admire the 10-12th best player of all-time. A player who maximized his talents and had a tireless work ethic in all his endeavors, whether it was in the gym, begging 'Nessa to stay, or jerking off in a Colorado hotel room.

He's just simply not as good as Tim Duncan.

Tim: 3

Let me ask you another question...what does MJ, Magic, Bird, Kareem, and Hakeem all have in common...

Most definitely...Here's hoping Kobe gets back. I've hated Kobe for years...but it was out of respect...he killed my team fairly often, and it pissed me off. I don't wish ill will on anyone, and as I get older, and he gets older, I've grown to respect the hell out of his game. Hope he gets back soon.

Since we're all in agreement that Kobe is a bad ass on the court and we know what he can do without PED's...I say an exception ought to be made that allows him to take PED's (if it will help) in the interests of NBA ratings...This is purely about money...I'd turn a blind eye in Kobe's case if I was commish...too much money and interest at stake...

This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??

I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me...

Maybe Father Time has defeated me...Then again maybe not! It's 3:30am, my foot feels like dead weight, my head is spinning from the pain meds and I'm wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what's the purpose of social media if I won't bring it to you Real No Image?? Feels good to vent, let it out. To feel as if THIS is the WORST thing EVER! Because After ALL the venting, a real perspective sets in. There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever.
One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day.
"If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer.
I know it's a long post but I'm Facebook Venting LOL. Maybe now I can actually get some sleep and be excited for surgery tomorrow. First step of a new challenge.
Guess I will be Coach Vino the rest of this season. I have faith in my teammates. They will come thru.
Thank you for all your prayers and support. Much Love Always.

Exactly. This injury is a blessing in disguise for Kobe. It erases all the questions of his inability to lead a 100 million dollar payroll. This dude was gift wrapped Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, and somehow found away to make them irrelevant. Everyone will say those guys didn't pull their weight but how could they when Kobe dominates the ball so much.

He avoids all the serious in depth look at this season as a selfish me first player that supposedly "want to win more than anyone in the game" but refuses to play a true team game and only wants to "win" his way. This chatter was starting gain steam. This team is literally fighting for the 8th seed....THE 8TH seed. But once again, it all goes like water under the bridge since he got hurt being such a "warrior".

He should be thanking his lucky Kate Faber asshole he collected that he got hurt.

Yup and now people are talking about how this hero was literally willing this team to the playoffs :lol. I guess Pau's triple double was nothing. I guess Dwight throwing up 20+ points on 7-8 shooting was Kobe. Instead of discussing his will to lead them to a playoff spot (which was far from guaranteed), why not discuss his leadership that caused LA to be in this horrific spot in the first place?

So shalt thou rest--and what if thou shalt fall
Unnoticed by the living--and no friend
Take note of thy departure? All that breathe
Will share thy destiny. The gay will laugh,
When thou art gone, the solemn brood of care
Plod on, and each one as before will chase
His favorite phantom; yet all these shall leave
Their mirth and their employments, and shall come,
And make their bed with thee.

Plod on, and each one as before will chase
His favorite phantom; yet all these shall leave
Their mirth and their employments, and shall come,
And make their bed with thee.

From William Shakespeare, Richard the Third, a small excerpt. The line
reads, 'He has come to open the purple testament of bleeding war.' And for
Lieutenant William Fitzgerald, A Company, First Platoon, the testament is
closed. Lieutenant Fitzgerald has found the Twilight Zone."
