View Full Version : NBA: Lakers are a Better Team Now

DMC

Now the Lakers are a real threat. The ball and chain that was Kobe Bean Bryant has been shed and now the real team can commence to play the game. Now you will see Pau fortify Howard, and Howard fortify Clark, and Clark fortify Jamison, so forth and so on.

Now you need to worry.

Don't forget about Nash fortifying them all, like he did with Hedo in Phoenix :lol

Who's melting down? I've been laughing my ass off at this team, tbh.... I just know a second-round exit is our ceiling this year and I'll be pleasantly surprised if they reach it, tbh... but yes, the Clipps won :toast

Meanwhile, the one melting down here is you, tbh.... :cry "You SHOULD be rooting for the Lakers, hater!" :cry "Kirby got injured!" :cry "Leave my Kirby alooooone!" :cry

You'll come begging for acceptance once you see that I am indeed the way and the light, and that no man cometh to the well but through me.

The Lakers are now a better team. Kobe was their Achilles heel.

Doubt that. Lakers were just shitty altogether this season. They had that one inspiring road win in Indy without Kobe then showed their true colors losing against Phoenix the next game.

Exactly. There was never a protocol to their victories. It was a Chinese fire drill (both sides of the ball) from day one thru last nite. It became readily apparent that no game was safe. Every time we stepped onto a court home or away we were at genuine risk of losing. That's a huge red flag of dire indications. & it has to be acknowledged & addressed.

What's our record after the allstar game against playoff teams in the west has to be pretty good like at least 66%?

1-4, 20%.

Losses to OKC, Denver, GS, and Clippers. Win over Memphis.

DMC is right. The Lakers are much more potent. Their inside game will slowly but surely be utilized more. If we indeed are matched up with them in the first round, our bigs our going to have their work cut out for them.

So the ball will be more in Nash's hands and it will mean more touches for Howard and gasol. How this can be bad for the lakers ? Op is perfectly right.

True. They're built in to O & 45 quite nicely.

Nash quit in Dallas and couldn't finish here twice. Please.

What would make Kupchak think he could finish in Los Angeles had/has me mystified.

3 pointer and fast break used to be the main weapons for _'antoni's suns during their best years imho, and i don't see no feasibility of him replicating any of these with the current team. old legs ain't fast enough to play 7-sec offense and the lakers have zero legit 3pt shooters to begin with.

Just look at all the followers slowly seeing it my way. I've told you forever that Kobe is a cancer to the Lakers. The Laker fans love watching him play, so the Lakers have long sold Kobe-ball over basketball and been profitable for doing so, but now it's about winning basketball and they've got a team to get there, except Kobe-ball has to take a back seat to basketball. The only way that could happen is that Kobe is out, and Mike D has neither the balls nor the authority to make that happen. Now the defense can grow, now Howard can be the true DPOY style player in the paint. Now Pau can be the player I've said he is while Laker fan was talking trade for a fucking PG. Now other players can find their roles.

All it took was one person to have a season ending injury for a team to thrive. How fucked up is that?

DMC with the goods.

Any questions now about who carried the Lakers to their last two titles? People, Bryant couldn't take the Lakers past the first round of the playoffs after Shaquille was shipped out and before Stern made his favorite trade for Pau. Bryant entirely missed the playoffs one year, and that was in his prime.

Gasol couldn't win a single playoff game till Kobe took him in.

Kirby looks worse than ever, tbh. Nigga doesn't even look for a shot, and on defense he doesn't bother to contest any shots and he turns the ball over 6 times per game.
