Now...Obama's doing just that. He offered it up to the Republicans. Obama is not a progressive president; he does nearly everything to thwart progressive policy and deliver for conservatives. There isn't a great strategic reason why he should do this. So why does he continue pushing conservative interests with nothing in return?

Repugs have repeatedly said no to any tax increases.

My guess is that Barry will kill the tax increases and keep the SS fuckup.

I think the Barry's budget won't pass primarily because Dem congressmen will not vote for SS CPI, since unlike Barry, they want to be re-elected.
