View Full Version : What was your worst take from the 2012-13 season?

I always see people criticizing others for their bad takes and people dodging other posters calling them out when their takes end up being wrong. So I decided to propose this thread. What was the dumbest or most-wrong thing you said this past season? It could be a horrible prediction or just a lambasted opinion that you now realize was misguided.

For me, I think it was this:

The Texans should win this game. To me, it's all about seeing if that defense can return to form. If they play well, the game shouldn't even be particularly close.

Obviously that didn't happen. For the next couple of threads, Pats fans didn't let me forget that prediction. I know that's not that bad of a take, but I only started posting here during the playoffs, and with the Ravens winning it all, any homerish predictions I may have made were backed up by my team. I'll have much more time to commit myself to bad takes this season.

If you think I've made a worse take, let me know. But it'd be more fair if you posted your own bad take before jumping on other posters. Let's see how many posters will sack up and admit they were wrong.

Yeah, just pull up Avante's posting history. Most takes look great in comparison.

Didn't really have a bad take this season tbh. I thought the chiefs would be good, guess that's my worst one.

Believing there was no way the Ravens could fluke their way to a championship.

I think my worst take ever was believing Troy Smith had what it takes to be a starting quarterback. Never again will an "athletic" quarterback who had success in college by dominating inferior opponents get the benefit of the doubt from me.

Although a lot of the time I just reach for random upsets, in order to look like a genius, without feeling any sort of confidence from a pick like this.

Thinking that the Cowboys were going to make the playoffs, and even win a few playoff games.

:lol Me thinking the Giants could play with fire again and barley make the postseason. Also calling Denver complete when I should have paid more attention to their biggest weaknesses more... Lack of interior pass rush and Rahim Moore.

just about everything I thought going into the 2012 season was wrong: thought SF would just be an above average team, Chargers would be good, Denver would be around .500, Rams would challenge in the NFC west, Cowboys would be great...

Thinking the Raiders could at least maintain their 8-8 record they posted in back to back seasons

I thought the Cowboys would go 19-0 and Dez Bryant would end world hunger so thats probably my worst

That Pete Carroll's Seattle team would eat shit and die a slow death and open the door for St Lou to take 2nd place.
