Probably the least clutch player in the league, but if we can't attract a decent free agent and have around $10m to split between a couple players he would be worth looking at for MLE money.

Expect he will be looking for a starting job though.

His PER this year was 14.0. The League Average is 15. Danny Green's was 14.1 and people here shit when the Spurs gave him HALF the MLE.

OJ Mayo may be one of the most overrated players in the league. He's flashy and athletic, but inefficient. He's NEVER put up a league average PER.

(http://twitter.com/KBergCBS)As expected, the Mavs' O.J. Mayo will not exercise his player option and will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

I think I prefer OJ over Evans if the spurs are actually looking at improving at the 2 spot. Should come cheaper as well.

OJ over Evans? Why is that?

I guess the main factors are outside shooting and price. Oj has always been a great 3 pt shooter in the NBA and the spurs system requires this with tp driving. With OJ being a UFA I believe he could be had for 2-3 mil a season less than Evans in my opinion. Evans has age on his side by 2 yrs and probably better slashing ability, but that is about all I would give in his favor. How do you rank these 2 head to head?

If Rick Carlysle was pissed at him last year, he'd never survive Pop.

Spurs fans are stupid, especially when it comes to player contracts. Bitching about $3MM per year contracts is so 1996.

Pretty quite on the OJ front. Would prefer him over ak if it does indeed come down to the 2 players. Gotta a feeling though he goes back to dallas.

Dallas has tons of money to spend and no players on their roster. Obviously you don't want to be bidding against crazy Cuban this year!

dallas started the offseason with same amount of $ to spend as SA. Of course now with Tiago locked up they have much more $ to spend. I dont think you will see any tier 1 or 2 type players sign until Dhoward goes.
