The server didn't like it that Solid D was cheating on it with a different basketball outlet.

Our server is pretty good though. It's super fast and this is our first significant downtime in quite sometime.

It pisses me off everytime it happens though. We are going to pay extra so for that rare times that it goes down for more than 30 minutes it can be switched to a backup server because it drives me nuts if it's down for longer than that.

updating differnt servers with DBs can be hard, one way is to have script post to two serverrs, but not many do this. I saw your update was a little old you could set up a cronjob so that ever night it tars up the .sql dump and then other server loads it and untars and imports to the updated database, that way it isn't so out of date. but ya'll did a WONDERFULL job getting it back up
I was actual suprissed that spurls talk was semi up but fullsportpress wasn't

The bandwidth this forum uses is astronomical. I'll look it up and see.

We use close to 200 gigs per month. The cost of the server per month adds up to about the price of season tickets.

rackshack gives something like 1000gigs of BW on their servers, but i assume since you are in San Antonio you are at the best mangeed host rackspace
or do you colate server someplace else

We use realwebhost. We have about 10 different websites and several servers.

realwebhost is actually awesome. We very rarely have any downtime. The price is good for what we get. And the customer service is outstanding. I once called the guy who runs it at home at around 4am and woke up him and his wife -- and he didn't even get pissed :)

I've heard about this program or FTP program where you use your PC as the server and just link everything off you're computer and how much you get depends on how big your HDD is. But, you have to leave your computer on 24/7.

yeah rackshack support does suck, but someone mentioned they used alot of BW and ev1 does have some of the "cheapest" bw

(edit BTW i don't have a rackshack server and don't work for them end edit)

This shut down was actually good, I was able to pour out all the containers off piss I had collecting by the PC since I never sign off, I even went outside my mothers basement,, I almost forgot what real grass looks like.to hear the soud of a bird was refreshing,

Thank you L J maybe this site should shut down at least once a month so I can do a mini clean up around my PC. I had no idea that smell I noticed was an old bean and cheese taco I forgot to eat back when the sonics and spurs was 2-2 you remember that time?

If I am not mistaken 1/2 of this website was off the bandwagon the other half was swinging from the shower rod,

To be honest I was so desperate I almost went to SR, thank you for keeping that very bad mistake from happening,

I never noticed when it was down because I was having problems with my computer. I accidently installed this LOP Infection shit and I had to get all that off. :|

No, the problem didn't have anything to do with our particular server. It had to do with a problem with a main hub or something like that. It wasn't something we could avoid.
