I don't have a problem with this list overall, every player except Jordan can be moved from one spot to another. Kobe still has a year or two to cement his status among the Top 10 greats. However, no matter what Kobe does, he can't go any higher than # 8 and this includes the assumption that he will come back next year and play at a elite level.

He's definitely Top 10 for sure.

Take away half of Duncan's brain and he'll still be a better teammate and have a better shot selection than Kobe. Just the facts, son.

If it was strictly LA, Kobe would be easily top 5. If it was strictly SA, Duncan would easily be top 5. But it was not strictly one city. It was a nationwide poll, meaning every state in the US. Simply the facts.

No just a lot more bandwagon Laker fans and fans in the large market that is LA than the small market that is san antonio.

100 years from now there will still be more laker bandwagoners than spurs fans, so kobe's legacy will be viewed greater than duncans by the general public. Us as spurs fans just have to appreciate the greatness duncan brought to this franchise and tolerate ignorance.

Fan polls are fan polls. I'd personally have Kareem above Magic, Wilt would be higher, and Bird wouldn't be top 5. I would hesitate to put any current players in the top ten. Kobe and Duncan will definitely be there when it is all said and done, but I'd prefer to see what their careers look like in total before placing them. Another ring for either could change their position drastically.

Phillip
04-25-2013, 10:20 AM
Magic ahead of Kareem? No.

Wilt and Bill are too high, tbh.

Of the all time greats, Bird is one of the most overrated. Wilt blows him away in stats and has only one less ring. Shaq, Kobe, and Duncan all have more rings and comparable or superior stats. Nostalgia drives the Bird hype too far.

Everyone knows that internet polls are accurate, hence fact. Just ask Romney, they had a poll on the Faux News website and he beat Obama by like 60% on November 1st.

Monster1776

I agree Haleem doesn't belong on there. And I'd bump Kobe and Shaq above Wilt. LeBron probably does deserve to be on there but winning a single championship with an all-star laden team doesn't really cement his status. Lets come back to that after a couple of years and see where he stands.

Hakeem doesn't belong??? Best low post player I've ever seen. A beast defensively as well. He is very underrated.
