Hightower was a horrible pick. He's a fat run stuffing linebacker who can't cover a plastic bag.

Giving him leeway with linebackers might make sense except drafting another fat run stuffing linebacker is fuckin stupid in and of itself.

LnGrrrR
04-26-2013, 07:16 PM
Well yeah, I think it's pretty retarded to draft a run stuffer. With our offense, I don't care if people run 5 yards every down, as long as we aren't giving up 30 yards through the air every other pass.

According to Mike Mayock he's an edge rusher though. (Shrug). If that's the role they want for him, I'm all for it.

Not surprised to see the Colts go with guard Hugh Thornton in the 3rd round. They're set at tackle and one of the guard spots. Could probably stand to draft a center next year but for this year they have good enough depth at that position. Bottom line for them is as awesome a season as Luck had, he was running for his life all the damn time and was sacked over 40 times. That can't happen again. If this guy pans out as much as the last guy named Thornton that the Colts drafted, I'll be happy.

Kind of pissed that we should've drafted Reggie Wayne's eventual successor as late as two years ago and still haven't done it, but there were other holes on the roster and Wayne is still playing.

Ravens loaded up. Ozzie Newsome is the best GM in the league. I still feel they need an OT and WR, but Ozzie will address that.

:lol at me ever praising Elway's dumbass. I take back everything I said on him being awesome after this draft. Last years draft is still pending, but he drafted a running back and a corner in the 2nd and 3rd round when DE was their biggest hole after cutting Dumervil.

As for the Giants, I am giddy over their moves. Moore is going to add to this dynamic pass rush, and Johnathan Hankins will add depth to the DT position and possibly replace Linval Joseph next season. Moore could be Tuck's replacement next year. Jerry Reese is a fucking genius. Linebacker was not going to be addressed. Fans wanted it, but the D gets results from their front 4. They make everything go for this team.

I like what the Giants did, too. I kept wondering why they passed on Moore in the first round. Then the second round. But they got him in the third, so it's clear they know what they're doing. Reese, unlike Elway knows having a strong front four is still the best way to win.

I don't know about their offensive line pick, though.

lol EJ Manuel would still be unpicked now if the Bills didn't reach

I honestly don't think so...certainly wouldn't of went first round but I think guys like nassib and Barkley are just viewed as ordinary. Atleast with Manuel there's the intrigue of size and athleticism.

I seem to be the only one who's extremely happy with the Chargers picks. Those moves made by Tom Telesco took some CAJONES. Mike Mayock things we were the winners of the first two rounds (someone who actually knows what they're talking about). We have drafted 3 first round quality players, each one surely will play straight away.

I kind of agree, but I think the RT at 11 was a reach, and will not be the impactful player one would hope for at 11 I would have preferred trading down and pick up a couple 2nd round talents for the OL, one OL and Jamar Taylor.

but I like it more than AJ drafts

I don't really see it as a reach, Fluker is the best RT in the draft, and probably the best tackle available. We have enough cap space to go get a solid LT.

Pitt and SD have had nice drafts tbh...teo is a faggot but good value for where he was drafted

Vikes got 3 nice players although they did give up a lot and ponder still sucks dick

Jets got nice pieces but they're a mess so it doesn't matter

Skins got boom or bust players

Aaron Hernandez-lite TE/slot WR potential playmaker and a CB who had 13 picks his sophomore season. The cb is also like 6'2 and runs a 4.5 iirc.

Obvious what Washington is tryin to do

Their 2nd rounder cb led the nation in picks in 2011 (13)

Their 4th round safety led the nation in picks in 2012 (8)

They want ballhawks...

"Nice" is probably a bit much to describe the Chargers' draft.... I like the Allen pick a lot and Telesco did a good job addressing our hole at CB with Williams, but Fluker was a slight reach and Te'o will be one of the biggest busts of this draft, tbh.... imho, Te'o pretty much has to be the reincarnation of prime Seau to justify trading up for him....

Picked up a Darren sproles-lite from FSU

5'7 change of pace receiving back that runs a 4.3 in this offense to compliment Morris will be nasty. Nigga needs to stay healthy tho...torn acl and 2 broken vertabraes in college

Like I said, reaching for lineman is a waste IMO. If you have a little patience good ones can be found in the later rounds.

Good draft for Cardinals

Two athletic guards, one dominant starter, the other a longer-term project
Two solid RB options, one pure power, one better in compact space
Real good ILB who understands how to stop the run
Solid pass-rusher, edge-run stuffer OLB/DE
High quality WR with good hands, route running and speed

Not sure what they'll do with Matthieu, but bulk him up 10-15 pounds, stick him at FS and let him make plays, I suppose. Will likely tip this from good to very good or even great.

Add best DT or S on the board in 7th.

Cardinals draft is better when viewed as collective whole than individual parts, but even as individual parts, they did a great job getting impact rounds 1, 2, 4, & 6 and strong future potential in rounds 5 & 7, with complete wildcard in round 3.

Love drafting two OL and two late-round RBs.

Build line, plug in players who being it from good line. Opposite of Whiz ideal of RBs over OL, and succeeding in spite of OLine. Really added some offensive depth and weapons for Palmer.

Bills' UDFA list so far:

Jeff Tuel, QB, Washington State
Drew Smith, RB, Albany
Da’Rick Rogers, WR, Tennessee Tech
Brandon Kaufman, WR, Eastern Washington
Ryan Turnley, C, Pittsburgh
Keith Pough, OLB, Howard

We need another solid OG prospect and are in dire need of TE's. Assuming the draft filled a couple holes (big assumption, I know), TE is easily our weakest position.

Rogers might end up being an underrated pick-up for us. He should make the roster by default anyways since our WR corps is so depleted and shitty.

Stevie Johnson
Robert Woods
Marquise Goodwin
T.J. Graham
Da'rick Rogers

Lots of speed in that group (RW, TJ, MG) too.

The Ravens have signed DE/OLB Brandon Copeland from the University of Pennsylvania. He's probably not going to make the team, but now I have to irrationally root for him for the rest of the off-season. That's a lot of pressure. How do people who went to schools with big athletic departments do it all the time?

I didn't hate the 49ers draft, but I didn't think it was that great, considering the picks they had. They had the ammo to get a Julio Jones--type impact player, but they instead sort of reached for a safety who would have fallen to them. It didn't cost them a lot, though, and I like that they are trying to address their lack of depth along the defensive line.

But how many receivers does a team need?
