No point in guessing, rolled ankles are impossible to accurately assess by the eye test, tbh..

Splitter has a low pain threshold, his reaction doesn't mean much IMO..

I'd rest him for game 4, they don't need him for that game..

Nuggets bigs could hurt the Splitter-less Spurs when they play McGee/Faried, but Spurs should be fine otherwise..Karl is averse to playing McGee big minutes, too..

Kawhi at the 4 to match Wilson Chandler, and Bonner should be fine against Koufos, tbh..

Spurfan will see how much they miss Splitter on Sunday
im pretty sure Howard missed every shot while he was being defended by Splitter
and hes giving up about 50 lbs in that matchup and probably 20 lbs of it dry muscle not lbm

good news is though it looks like GS will win this game and if they do its going at least 6
Diaw and Splitter should be back by the 2nd round then

If Den-GS goes 6, the soonest the second round will start is May 4th. If it goes 7, it'd be May 6.

So that's a little more than a week if it goes 6 and right at 10 days if it goes 7.

So, yeah, let's hope for a 7-game series. If it ends sooner than that, the Warriors are preferred due to their lack of bigmen.

Tiago's defense is very very good. He knows to use his body, moves well, stays on the floor and only jumps when it's the proper time. I wanted to see Baynes get some minutes ahead of Bonner and Blair during regular season. But you can see that he doesn't know to use his body, jumps too easily and his timing on challenging shots is not right.

And between the choice of Nuggets winning a long series and Warriors winning shorter series, I'd rather to have the latter. Denver has three big bodies to throw at Tim while Warriors only have one. But of course, the ideal situation is Warriors winning a long series. But I'm not that greedy.

That would be a terrible argument, tbh. His defense against pick-and-rolls this series has been about the worst I've ever seen, tbh.

Gasol would be a close second in that case, tbh

If he doesn't suit up now we may as well cut him. He'll probably only play if were up by a bunch though.

Ergo, today was the perfect opportunity for McGrady to make his debut.

I'd say due to our half of the Western conference draw, it's not so bad that Splitter is out. If we had to play the Thunder, Clippers or Grizz in the next round, it would be worse for obvious reasons. Denver and GS don't really have frontcourt tandems like Randolph/Gasol, Griffin/Jordan or Perkins/Ibaka.

oh crap
04-27-2013, 01:01 AM
It's a depressing thought thinking a wide open West might be derailed by a Tiago ankle.

not really, tbh.

Hard to read Dwight's lips there, but from that angle it looks like he says, " You're a pussy man?" Does anyone else get that?

Really, really bad timing. But 7-10 days isn't bad at all. I think the GS-Denver series will go 6-7 games anyway. So hopefully the good guys take care of business on Sunday to rest up for Round 2...:tu

Just saw the injury on the ESPN game replay. Didn't look bad at all. IMO he'll be ready to roll next round, regardless of whether the Den/GS series goes the distance or ends in 5 (doubt it ends that soon tho).

That Timmy expression is absolutely Priceless. Quiet confidence. The Old Man schooling the new wave. Gotta love it. Imagine 26 year old Timmy v Dwight, Dwight would be his bitch. Well i suppose he is now to ;)

Thanks God the x-rays were negative. Hopefully just low grade ankle sprain. What concerned me is that he put no weight on it and hopped off the court on his good ankle/foot. Tiago is a warrior, screw you guys bad mouthing him, he will come back hopefully early in the next series, like game 2 or 3.

Splitter out indefinitely with ankle sprain, Pop says. Could return for Round 2.

Unleash the Bane.

I hope Pop will do this but I expect more Bonner and Blair. The sooner we can get Baynes integrated the sooner he can make an impact.

If Pop is willing to rest the entire big 3 multiple times in the regular season, I can't be surprised that he would be cautious with Splitter tonight, especially since the Lakers are down their top 5 perimeter players.

TheCerebral1

He'll be ready to go for Golden State. Baynes did pretty well in his minutes. Yes he looks lost at times, but still a decent big.
