i mean he is probably top 5 to ever play. he is kind, humble, funny, loyal and always a class act....well except when he flicked that lady off last year lol
i feel lucky to have been the right age to go to games and watch him and experience it first hand. some of my best memories are because of him.
and at 37 he's still playing at such a high level. THE GOAT!!!!!
thanks tim! one for the thumb! :flag:

I'm not sure we'll know when that is. He's never been one for pomp and circumstances, and would hate a farewell tour. Every year at Wake, he never announced he was coming back, he just let the NBA draft filing deadline pass.

No but I've been watching him for his whole career, so I kinda already know he's awesome.
Sometimes I end up getting into arguments with newbie basketball fans on other forums about Tim Duncan when they act all shocked then he puts up a 30 point 15 rebound game, and act like it's his best game ever of his career and a fluke. So many kids on here hate on the guy because they didn't see how he shat on people every single night for like 10 years straight before his knee problem finally caught up to him.
As good as Duncan still is now. . .just remember he was destroying people hardcore ever single night a decade ago. It's hard to imagine sometimes how he used to be even better than he is now since he's still good. :)

I will without a doubt cry when Timmy retires and i'm not ashamed to admit it. He represents everything I like about basketball and got me into basketball. Just seeing him, Tony, and Manu on the court makes me genuinely happy

I always think how lucky i am being a Spurs fan since 92...Experiencing the Robinson/Duncan ERA and all of the success that has followed. And lucky enough to See Robinson play in 1992, attend the 99 finals in S.A and a handful of reg season games in 2002......considering im from Australia.

I can't consider Tim in a vacuum. His fantastic success has been enabled and enveloped by Pop's organization and coaching. One of the great legendary pairings.
Tim had been drafted by Boston, he would had a HoFer career and $200M+ in salary, but very probably not with the same team and long-term success.

I wish he could somehow play until he's 50. It'll be depressing when he retires no matter what his numbers are. I hope he goes out on top like Robinson at least!

I'm not an accomplished scientist but it seems to me that "all the world" never sleeps at the same time (unless something went really wrong with Kim Jung-Un)
The good news is that you can go sleep at peace now because there will always be someone awake to think about Tim

It's amazing how we've always been competitive as long as Timmy's contributing. The fact that he's playing like this at this age is a testament to his greatness tbh...
Really soon we're gonna have to watch him hang it up as father time catches up completely...keep calm and enjoy TD even more...

I was behind him on my motorcycle this afternoon.
1. We were behind a car going a little slow -- he did not tailgate.
2. When passing a bicyclist, he went way to the left side of the road to give the cyclist plenty of space.
3. As he turned left into his place, he used his blinker, making sure I had enough time to slow down.
Tim Duncan = classy driver. Surprise surprise. :toast

He was leading a fledgling franchise...and his exciting brand of basketball probably helped them be one of the ABA teams that survived and moved on to the NBA.

more than just TD, the thing that blows me away is, we went from David Robinson: classiest star of his generation, to TD, classiest star of his generation. and both the best at their position for at least part of their career (TD: most of his career)
what are the odds of that? astonishing! and I wouldn't trade DROB-TD for MJ-Lebron, their character is that important to me.
and the other Spurs greats during that time have always been a little better than your dime-a-dozen athlete with a jump shot/handles too: Avery Johnson, class act, worked his ass off to accomplish what he did, still remember Damon Staudamire's "no team with AJ at PG will ever win a title" or something like that :lol Sean Elliott: class act. Manu: class act, strikingly different than your usual generic-NBA-baller. Tony Parker: class act, and who in the history of the NBA has continued to improve his game like TP? year after year after year that guy somehow comes back a little better...
since DROB first put on the Spurs uniform... smh

05-05-2013, 01:25 AM
:blah Seriously, though, the username doesn't just go out to our Timmy. It goes out to Manu and Tony (only some of the time to Tony, at least... he's still pretty young... and... yeah... but he's getting there, lol), The Spurs Organization in general, and our lovely coach, Gregg Popovich. :hat ... Basically, to all the legacies from the past and on into the future... The living legends of today that will live on and on and on... making this team/franchise successful and victorious for many, many years to come. So ... look into it however you wish, and I'll look into however I wish. Ya' catch my drift. Okay, enough with the corniness--I know ya'll got me. The End. :p:

as much as I appreciate him, there are still times I take him for granted. I hope I get off my ass and see him play in person before it's over with. If he wins another ring, he's easily top 5 all time imo. The guy is the goods.
