I am not a native San Antonian but I adopted the Spurs when I moved here back in 2003.
These Spurs remind me a lot of the Landry-era Cowboys who had that awesome run of 20 consecutive winning seasons with 18 playoff appearances. Back in those days, Cowboy fans EXPECTED a playoff appearance, and playoff success, it wasn't something we hoped and prayed for, like we do for the current Cowboys under Jerry Jones.
What I'm trying to say is, I am so thankful for these Spurs.
They have been consistent winners, and they play with class, representing our fair city with poise and grace. They have spoiled us and I hope we as fans never take them for granted. Things can turn around in such a hurry -- I hope I don't live to see the time in twenty years when I look back on the good old days after the Spurs fortunes go bad -- hopefully the Spurs never have to experience what Jerry Jones has done to the Cowboys.
GO SPURS GO!
