Why do you care if someone overpays for an NBA team? Serious question..like how does it affect you or your favorite NBA team?

Boy, can't wait to see how this plays out in court. Nevertheless, I want to see Sacramento keep their team and Seattle keep their tears. God I wish the Thunder would sport some mid 80s Sonics throwbacks tonight just to twist the knife a little deeper.

Nah, Sacramento is a good market for the league. Now they should blow up the Bobcats and Pelicans for sure.

Should also blow up the Suns tbh, a city full of neoconservative assholes and a cheap kike of an owner don't deserve a basketball team.

FUCK. I wanted to wear my brand new 300 dollar Seattle throwback jersey to the first Sonic Thunder game. Fuck you Stern, always ruining our plans.

Shut up, I quite enjoy watching the Suns, plus it's the only franchise that will refund my ticket if they suck balls that particular night.

You're from OKC so you're probably a neoconservative asshole too, tbh.

Artificially driving up the price of shitty teams drives up the price of the good ones making an unsustainable market which leads to small market teams with even shittier product.

I'd remove 2 teams from the league, and then I would re-locate a few, tbh..

Atlanta(won't be moved for a while, though), Charlotte, Indiana, Milwaukee, New Orleans and Sacramento are all iffy, tbh..

I don't think Sacramento is iffy, they've proven that they're an amazing basketball market.... now that the Maloofs are finally out of the picture, I think the awesome atmosphere/crowd from Arco Arena in the late '90s/early 2000's will return, tbh....

HUGE props to Kevin Johnson.

Word is NBA executive committee was so impressed they want him to come work for the NBA.

I remember lot of people being Kings fans in those days; didn't really see what all the hype was about, but they can definitely do it.

Nah, I've had them pegged as a 2nd round exit tops with a distinct chance at a 1st round exit for months now, keep reaching though :tu

I agree but Atlanta seems a bit of a stretch. Would be nice if Stern would of just given us the Hornets back in 2006 so we could of avoided all of this.

unpopular opinon, but I do feel for Seattle fans.

It's Seattle's fault in the first place for not having an arena ready. That's why Charlotte lost their team in the first place.

OKC would have never sniffed a team if it wasn't for Hurricane Katrina. No way Stern or any league would let the Hornets stay there. Same reason why the Saints didn't stay in San Antonio. Also, it's not OKC's fault that Seattle didn't approve a new arena. That city has only themselves to blame for losing the Sonics. They didn't fight as hard for the Sonics like the Sacramento did for the Kings.

HH is right. There should be a few free agents from that team floating around this offseason. The rest should be working the drivethru at McDonalds.

All this talk of good and bad markets and such is beside the point imo. When you think of a shitty franchise, it tends to be shitty because one or more of the front office, ownership, or arena is shitty. Not because the city or market is shitty.

Basketball arenas only hold ~20k people. Even small cities by NBA standards usually have populations of half a million. Build a good team and the fans will show up.
