I was watching this yesterday. Brings back some great memories. I became an NBA fan (and Spurs fan) right before Duncan entered the NBA draft. I must say I have been incredibly fortunate to have been able to watch one of the 5 greatest players of all time for my entire late childhood, teen years, and early adulthood. Tim Duncan is the definition of consistency and greatness! And he is still proving it today!

When David was giving his thoughts on Tim towards the end of the video, that was real talk.. A bunch of these dudes nowadays like Lebron and Wade complimenting eachother is so cliche most of the time and although it may be genuine it doesn't sound like it at all. You can see emotion when Dave speaks..

Roy Firestone did a great job with these up close segments. Great stuff.

Firestone (to Tim): When is there no more mr. nice guy?
Tim (laughing): When I get pissed off.

Right after that, David nails what's so great about Tim that holds true today 15 year later, about the work and effort Tim puts into his game, the drive and desire and the understanding he can't do it alone.

Cool vid. Sorry to break it to you Rob, but Duncan can now shoot better than you too

Don't think either DRob or TD would have predicted just how much Timmy would improve. When he talked about hoping that he has a long way to go before he stops getting better, I thought that he had no idea that at age 37, he'd still be changing/improving his game or the storied career he's put together. All those sentiments about team mates, hard work off the court, etc. are still as true today as it was back then.

Tim graduated with a psychology degree? That explains how he can mind f**k other players so easily.

Also explains why he can get through an interview like a normal human being and guys like D-Rose can barely string together words that form coherent sentences.

Oh no, you hurt Derrick Rose's feelings, he's out another season.

A part of me always wanted assume that we'd have another seamless transition like the David-Timmy one... still waitin for that next legendary big for TD to mentor :depressed

:lol iknowright?

Though I gotta say the ensemble cast we've been putting together soothes my disappointment there somewhat. Maybe Tiago and Baynes can be a legitimate starting front court for us in the post-Timmy era? Kawhi has all-star potential, I don't think that's too huge a stretch. Parker will still be around for a while, as CoJo and De Colo progress to being a potentially pretty decent back court tandem. And who knows who else we'll pick up to fill needed holes. We've had two fairy tale-esque players in a row, but maybe going back to reality won't be that bad. :)
