It's not a 3-1 deficit, it's 3-0. It means they have to win 4 in a row, 1 out of 4 complete.

There's bound to be one NBA team to come back from a 0-3 deficit. The Rockets are not that team.

Surprised not to see the mavs on the losers somewhere on this list tbh.

When the Rockets walk back into their locker room at half time we're going to pelt Beverly with cow shit.

Why is there no way okc loses? Game one was the only game they destroyed the rockets. The series could easily be flipped. It's about time harden has his breakout game.

Irrelevant; it's 3-1 now. .

Yeah exactly.

Morey's already in Offseason mode. He started following Dwight and CP3 on twitter (https://twitter.com/dmorey/following) (only follows Rockets) and updated his slogan:

Great players understand that you need to play with other great players to win the title

rockets should feel lucky & happy that they've already managed to avoid the broom tbh. you can say whatever you like as long as houston remains a US city but you must be fooling yourself if you seriously believe so. houston need to backdoor SWEEP OKC in order to qualify for the next round which's just impossible imho

GuerillaBlack

Against a healthy thunder squad? Definitely impossible. Against a chimpless thunder squad, the rockets have a chance tbh. Even with KD they struggle and lose multiple double digit leads to the lowly 8th rockets. Plus Lin will probably still be out.

although Rin not playing will significantly bolster your chance to beat OKC in a single game, it's still nearly impossible to win 4 games in a row against OKC imho. say if every game is a 50-50 from now on, the odd of one team (the rockets) winning 4 in a row is 1/16. the game ain't done yet and the hope is still alive, but only women would believe miracles could happen in the realistic world imho

If Brooks gets his head out of his ass and plays intelligent combinations its all over. Yeah there's no way they're the same team without Westbrook but they shouldn't be THAT much worse. I'm just hoping this somehow in some way gives them an incentive to attempt to run a more methodical offense rather than wasting 8 seconds of the shot clock trying to feed KD in isolation 35 feet from the goal.

How about those coming from 0-2 deficit in a best of 5 first round series? When did the first round started to become best of 7 by the way?

You forgot the Spurs in 2008. Hornets led 3-1 in round 2, right?

Edit: Nevermind...just looked it up. Spurs trailed 0-2, but then made it 2-2.

Sooner or later some NBA team will come back from 0-3 to win a series. I'd sure love for the Rockets to be the ones to do it, against OKC.

I think back in 2010 the Celtics were leading the Magic 3 games to none, then the Magic closed that to 3-2, but the Celtics finished the job in Game Six.

Boston avoided the broom this year from NY (last game). The Knicks will probably finish them off tonight, though, since they're playing at home. We'll just have to wait and see...

Come on now, Houston isn't that bad, you're a chink so you should be able to understand where I'm coming from, right? At least they aren't finding hundreds of dead pigs in our rivers and telling us the water is still at a drinkable level, same as before.

Umm...that's not how that works.

I'm sure many of the teams who have gone down 0-3 won game 4. Doesn't change the fact that none of them have won the series.

Houston is still in the 3-0 hole until they either advance or get eliminated.

Teams don't often come back from 3-1 either, and they don't get that chance if they blow game 4 down 3-0. I don't see any reason the sequence of game results LLLW should be any more devastating for a team than is LLWL, LWLL, or WLLL. In any of the sequences you still have to win 3 straight.

In theory, yes. But if we are looking at it purely statistically, 0 teams have come back from a 0-3 deficit. Regardless of whether Houston manages to make it 3-2 or 3-3, it doesn't change the fact that they were, and are, still fighting that 0-3 percentage of 0%.

The thing about statistics is that they are a model: they are a representation of reality, not reality itself. Just because 0% of teams have come back from 0-3 doesn't make it impossible that the Rockets, or another team could do so...but once they've been labeled with that percentage, it will not change until they fully achieve the changing factor, and that would take winning the entire series.

I think it's kind of nonsensical that stuff like this is always hyped by the media, as if a team is fighting every 0-3 deficit in NBA history. Even worse is when they try to act like it's some shocker that team that win game 1 almost always win a series. Should be obvious that a team is much more likely to win a series when you condition on them being ahead of the other team in the series by 1 win. Same line of reasoning, Houston is only down 2 wins to OKC and not 3, so they're not fighting the 0-3 battle anymore.

it's just a matter of time before you yellow asses trash up everything in houston and make the city a hell of a place similar to where you immigrated from. and when that actually happens someday, you would move elsewhere just like you did a couple years/decades ago. motherfuckers are enjoying the freedom and welfare, and everything in this country but they never have any true love for this land and never will. they'll just go where grass is greener imho

Why does Houston have such civic pride? It's like everyone in Houston is proud of their shithole city, like it's the New York of the bible belt.
