Some people need to realize they can't sing and stick to doing it at home regardless of what their family or husband says to them. Not everyone can sing lol.

First time I've seen it. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. She started out singing really low and she bombed some of those late high notes, but otherwise, not a bad effort. I'm surprised this has gotten so much attention because people who actually sing for a living have absolutely butchered the Anthem in the past. I mean this might be funny for like a week, but no way this makes the all time list. I'd even say this was...mediocre considering who was singing it.

The national anthem is normally sung in 3/4 time; I've heard some singers do it in 4/4, but I'll be damned if this wasn't the first time I'd ever heard it in 3.5/4.

To any Australians and/or Meat Loaf fans.

Meat Loaf sang the at the AFL Grand Final a few years ago. That was indeed the most pathetic shit i've ever witnessed. And being a vetran professional he got paid 1 million to do it. Disgraceful. Was like he wasn't even fit enough to sing and looked like he was gonna have a heart attack. Jackson's wife deserves a Grammy compared to old Meat Loaf's effort.

I couldn't understand for the life of me why the hell TNT aired that. The only possible explanation I can come up with is that they wanted to exact revenge on former ABC/ESPN employee Mark Jackson. I seem to remember them going back to the studio briefly after that and the only ones who opened their mouths were Kenny and EJ. Ernie was all business, pretty much just hyped the upcoming game. Kenny went over the top crowing about what a talented singer she was, and then they rolled the footage right after she was done where she nearly walked right past her husband as he tried to congratulate her. Dead silence from Chuck and Shaq, whose biggest pluses as broadcasters is that they are incapable of bullshitting and I think realized they had nothing nice to say so they weren't going to say anything at all.

And for the record Carl Lewis' National Anthem performance ranks second only to the 1983 loss to Jimmy V's Wolfpack as the greatest disaster on a basketball court perpetrated by the University of Houston.

And this is why I will never advocate the tradition of one person singing the anthem to a crowd.

I am a little busy at work so I haven't had a chance to play this, but the still image on the youtube clip has her with her sunglasses on her head. Did she take them off?

Edit:

Why is that stupid whore wearing her sunglasses on her fake head?

Never mind. WTF! she actually sang the national anthem with sunglasses on her head?

Thing is she could probably sing it somewhat decently if she just sang it straight and correctly and didnt try to Mariah it all up. It's not an R&B tune

I don't advocate anyone singing it like that, but I love this tradition when you have someone who sings it like this:
