Pop at his ornery best. He loosens up a little towards the end, but you can feel the fear in the uncomfortable dead space, and the careful selection of words from the assembled media.

Angry Pop only means one thing, the playoffs have begun.

Did a bunch of players really fuck up in practice or something? Pop is usually testy with the media but something really ruffled his feathers just before this interview.

To be fair they were horrible questions, Spurs just finished sweeping a team and the guys asking questions are posing them as if they Spurs have to overcome the odds to win.

Best question was the last one. Rest were garbage.

Pop is like the old tough guy or older drunk! He you want to choose your words wisely with lol! He just seems so mad at times or uptight with BS questions they ask him. He truly is not a media friendly guy, he is a stern dude lol.

I like this version of Pop, the attitude shows me that he wants to win. Hopefully that translates into not playing weird line ups during stretches of a game.

That's ridiculous he always wants to win.

That's ridiculous he always wants to win.

He doesn't always ''show'' that he wants to win. Waiving the white flag vs Denver a few weeks ago playing micro ball for example.

He played Bonner/Blair alot last series and somehow we didn't get burned too much by it but some if it was also by necessity. Hopefully he doesn't push his luck there.

I don't know if it is a conscious thing the networks covering the NBA are doing, but it seems like there's a lot more female side line reporters. Pop actually seems to be more tolerant and respectful of female interviewers, regardless of what they ask, especially during the in-game talks between quarters.
