View Full Version : OT- to anyone watching the Celts and Knicks...(.6)

I'm having a hard time processing what just took place. The Celtics had the ball, out of bounds on the baseline, with only .6 on the shot clock. The main guy talking says, "now, with .6 you can catch and shoot"....the Celtics inbounds the ball to kg and he tries to catch and turn before shooting...immediately, the commentator says, " well you can't do that"...meaning there's not enough time to catch and turn before shooting. How in the hell does it happen in .4?? I'm truly sorry to bring up this dead horse, but it was strange...with all that said, Garnett wasn't even close to getting it off In time, either. Anyone else see this?
The clock started late.
There is a reason they changed the rule the following season to say that with .4, you can only catch and shoot.

Didn't know about the rule change...and fwiw, I'm not saying the spurs should have won that game/series...it was just very strange. There was a moment of silence where I know one of them wanted to bring up d fish and .4 ...but didn't..

Every non Lakers fan and every reasonable Lakers fan knows the clock didn't start on the .4 shot until he had already caught the ball and was almost turned around completely.
Fisher's shot really took about .7 at least. Maybe .75

Again, sorry for bringing this up...I honestly, hadn't looked to closely into it since the year it happened...and it's been awhile. I haven't forgotten about it but just avoided all articles and such...instead of worrying about fishers shot, I always had wished Duncan's luck shot would have just taken a tenth or two, of a second longer.

Sad that it happened at home too. Our timekeeper sucks.

Much to the dismay of fellow Spurs fans, Fish's release is even slower.
