go small market teams! fuck Stern and the NBA and their agenda to push the bigger market/ESPN-trendy teams to the top!

this will be the year that karma will bite the NBA in their ass for rigging countless series in order to push their agenda.

BR, no way can you be a Memphis fan after they willingly gifted Gasol to the Lakers.

And tonight, with their 45 freethrow attempts, we saw Stern repay that favor.

son I can't lie. Its hard for me to cheer for the Spurs considering they represent such a cesspool like San Antonio. I'm sorry. I'm just being honest. now if they were located in another small Texas town then I could throw some support at them, but San Antonio is nothing more than a glorified Tijuana with a SeaWorld. sorry I hope you are not offended.

and son we thank Texas for their stupidity in taking in our Katrina rats as if they were capable of being helped in the first place. those rats were lost long before Katrina. however it is Katrina that will forever be used as the excuse for those rats for never doing anything or being anything in life and the pussification of America will allow for it. thanks again for taking some of them off our hands.

If two small market teams make it to the Finals, you can make a case that Stern fixed it that way. Say Memphis v Indiana. Two teams with no "superstars" prove that you don't need to spend $120 million on payroll to win a championship or have a "Big 3". This helps Stern make the case that the most recent CBA worked, Stern get's hailed as a genius, goes out in a blaze of glory. Helps the resell value of small market teams, potential owners willing to overpay for a shitty small market franchise. NBA and Stern rake in the money.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

lmao ignorance is bliss

Tom Benson was born, raised, and lives in New Orleans. just because he owns a couple of car dealerships in San Antonio like he does in many other parts of the country doesn't make him from San Antonio :lol

San Antonio couldn't support an NFL or MLB team. there is a good reason why that shitty Alamo Dome sits empty most of the year (unless WWE or the rodeo is in town) and why that city only has one team.

Well... Texas does have 2 NFL teams already, would be unheard of to have a 3rd in the same state. Although I don't think you can really consider the Cowboys a professional football team; they're the reason I stopped watching the NFL all together.

Houston being a shithole has very little to do with katrina and everything to do with its lack of zoning laws. When you can build a strip club and/or gun store anyone in the city with no restrictions it's gonna be ghetto as hell.

umm no not really. although both are pretty shitty. they are pretty even, with BR getting a slight edge. lets break it down ...

LSU > UTSA

LSU Football alone > San Antonio Spurs basketball

Tiger Stadium > vacant Alamo Dome

San Antonio Mexicans > Baton Rouge black folk

3 casinos including 1 luxury resort > the smallest/worst SeaWorld park in the U.S.

Dirty little creek river walk > Mississippi River levee

Baton Rouge food > San Antonio food

Baton Rouge downtown - San Antonio downtown = likely a draw, neither that impressive

son LSU football is one of the top five most popular and profitable programs in the country. the stadium will soon be expanded to hold well over 100,000 fans per game. not to mention the fact that even when they play shitty teams like Tulane or North Texas, the tickets in the very upper levels still sell for at least $20-40.

Now in San Antonio on the other hand with the Spurs playing in a 18,000 seat venue, you can still get damn good PLAYOFF tickets for around .50 cents to about $10.00.

I'm not talking about from a pure economic standpoint. When it comes to comparing football and basketball, football will always win out in that case. I'm talking general success.

general success? LSU football, baseball, etc. have all had great success. you measure success by the overall product and what it brings to your city/state. I'm willing to bet that LSU athletics brings in more revenue than all of UTSA athletics and Spurs basketball combined.

I'm talking about from a sheer competitiveness standpoint. The LSU product has produced thousands (millions?) of graduates, including athletes, that have prolly gone on to lead somewhat successful lower to middle-class lives while UTSA's diplomas have about as much worth as the paper you use to wipe your ass.

However, when it comes to the accomplishments of LSU football and the Spurs, they're equals but I give the slight edge to the Spurs due to more championships.
