The Spurs actually match up very well on the inside with Memphis. Splitter plays Randolph as well as anyone because he plays position defense and moves without the ball on offense. Duncan draws Gasol away from the basket where he is not a great defender. This would be the Spurs series to lose IMO if Memphis even takes out OKC.

LOL Grizz in finals -Spurs stay healthy Grizz don't stand a bat in hell against them - Spurs toyed with them when healthy this year and still the much better team. What a lark just because they beat a banged up soft willed Clippers team................. Duncan this year still much superior offensively to the over hyped Gasol and still a better defender as well. Parker and Manu will also love payback again against Grizz - 6 games max.

No. There's nobody on that team that can exploit Miami's D except Tim Duncan--and he would have to play major minutes while simultaneously defending the paint on every Bron and Wade penetration. The Heat's perimeter D is too fucking good and will turn Parker into dogshit. Miami's transitional D is even better. San Antonio needs a good dose of Heat injuries and 50+% shooting beyond the 3 to sniff 2 wins in this series

This.
As good as Duncan has been the gap between Lebron and Timmy is so wide ... I dont see how even a vintage performance by Manu and a earlier season performance by Parker would even be enough. YOu guys are hyping KL but he will be in foul trouble all series forcing you to double James ... and Ray, Battier Chalmers will bury you from 3. you guys run with the Heat that will be murder and your wings will be in foul trouble all series long.

Heat in 5 most likely 6 if they come out flat ...

It's really not.... black coaches all fucking suck for some reason, they all rely on their assistants to do the actual coaching while they do shitty motivational speeches.... and I'm not being racist, I'd be perfectly happy to see a black coach who actually knows how to draw up a play make it in the league, I think Brian Shaw has a good chance of being that kind of coach....

Doc Rivers is questionable, he was thisclose to being fired before the KG and Ray trades and was generally thought of as a horrible X's and O's coach.... as for Lenny Wilkens and KC Jones, I'm talking about today's coaches, not the old heads from back in the day...

I often wonder about those mic'd up or live wire or those whatever they call em segments..the coaches can't be as dumb as they sound on those, I assume they cut out the technical parts where they talk about hedging screen and rolls and defensive rotations..It's always "play defense" "it takes five" "pass the ball" "the ball finds energy" (lol D'Antoni) etc.

doc is from the shitty motivational "line" ...
And I thought he sucked too ...
But his in-bounds plays are good ...(when he has scorers)
And the defense stayed strong when Thibs left ...
I say good not great coach ...but better than most white or black.

The league actually doesn't allow the actual X's and O's tactical stuff to be broadcast on those segments, so yeah, all anyone gets to hear are platitudes.... you can still tell who the really horrible coaches are by who can't even get those right, tbh.... Its not that hilarious when you consider location. Memphis is located on the Mississippi River which usually is a marker for dividing the East from the West. A fair point, even so it's in the Easternmost 1/3rd of the country. Which is just crazy that it's considered West. :lol

It's more because so much of our population is still on the east coast where all the teams are. Half the teams have to be in the western conference, so whoever's closest gets the job. Chicago and Detroit are in the "western conference" in hockey too, so it's even worse there. Barely anyone lives in the actual middle and upper middle parts of the country.

Though to be fair, Illinois, Michigan, and even as far east as Ohio are considered "midwest" even though it's not very far west, and some of those states aren't near the middle of the country. Tennessee is south of those, so it's not too surprising that's considered "west" too.
