The most overrated "clutch" player of this generation. Has done absolutely jackshit since the '05 playoffs.

That said, hell of a fuckin' win. Leonard was the true hero.

Manu is a 36 year old, injury ridden player. Youre setting yourself up to be disappointed by expecting consistently good play out of him. He was arguably the best closer in the game prior to his noticeable decline though, and numbers back him up on that.

He shouldn't be taking 20 shots including couple last second shots and a very long contested 3 out of nowhere if he is playing like shit.

Regular season. He hasn't produced a good playoff run since '06.

But he is still an extraordinary playmaker, quite possibly the 2nd best in the league behind James. Unless he's hot and/or wide open, I'd like to see Manu keep his shots under 12 a game and just get others involved.

He was the only one worth a shit in 2011 despite the shoulder injury. He was huge in the Dallas win in 2010 too despite the broken nose. Those teams just happened to suck. Playmaking is definitely his forte in the clutch and not so much shot making.

Anyhow, fellow Spurs fans, not submitting to ownage bumps tonight. Manu was awful outside of one big play and I'm not going to be results oriented and forgive him for his terrible game (at least shooting wise, he was fantastic passing tonight).

But feel free to ownage bump me if Manu turns in a great game 2.

mid is spot on here. One made shot does not excuse multiple terrible ones.

I'm glad Manu stepped up for that last, great, open shot, but the other ones he took could (and, frankly, should) have cost the spurs the game.

Ginobili is Ginobili.

But, the fact that we had a chance to win the game after such a horrible performance by Gino and without TD speaks volumes about this team. We got the win, I doubt Manu is going to be this bad going forward, so what's the point of being senile.

Manu in '06. Everybody remembers "the foul" but on that series Manu had 21.3 ppg on 49% shooting and 40% on 3's.
Manu in '07. NBA champion
Manu in '08. Played injured throught out. Still put up 21.3 ppg, 6 assts and 4.1 rbds per game in the last series we won that year. Spurs leading scorer in game 7 against NOH.
Manu in '09. Didn't play.
Manu in '10. 19 ppg, 5 assts, 3.7 rbds and 2.3 stls vs Dallas. 20 ppg, 7.5 assts, 3.8 rbds and 3 stls vs Suns.
Manu in '11. 20.6 ppg, 4.2 assts, 4 rbds, 2.6 stls vs Memphis with a broken elbow.
Manu in '12. Chilled 'till the road got tough and averaged 18.5 ppg on 50% shooting and 42% on 3's.

Yeah, I say he has done quite well in the playoffs since '05.

leonard was the one doing nothing in the 1st half. aside from that terrible three, manu setup a lot of shots and was passing up shots looking for others (can't remember if it was before or after parker was getting blocked every 3rd trip down).
manu's shot was way off but he played hard and was a positive for the most part.

The hero of this game was thompson for fouling out.

green and kl got us back into the game, with diaw taking the shots after being left wide open for most of the game finally deciding to shoot

The thing about Manu is, when hes going through a rough stretch he rarely completely disappears. He still remains a solid playmaker most of the time. Outside of his shooting and one bad pass in the second half, I think Manu did pretty well. He played under control, grabbed some rebounds, made things happen with his passing even in plays where he didn't get an assists and defended pretty damn well. He had a +13 too. People should look beyond shooting, imho.
