Why do you feel that you must 'tard it up with threads like this? It will only make Spurs fans relish the victory more.

Why root for a team that can't hold on to a 16 point lead with 4 minutes to play?

I seriously doubt it. The Spurs haven't been a hated team (in general) for years. ESPN's agenda doesn't effect everyone, just the most gullable.

I have some friends who are OKC fans and they absolutely detest the Spurs ... ironic given that they have built their franchise on SA's model.

Warriors are the new Suns tbh. They are the young exciting team that everyone wants to see make it to the Finals, only to be tripped up by the Spurs along the way. I could see this becoming a new one sided rivalry for San Antonio. They've needed one since the Suns went down.

Theyre probably bandwagoners, thats why. Bet they have no idea how OKC was built.

Pop has said many times that he used Utah as a model. Didn't stop anyone here from hating the Jazz.

There was a time when the spurs couldnt hold on to a 10 point lead with 1 minute left tbh

Son you're too young cause the Spurs couldn't hang on to leads in the 2003 post season. They literally gave away games to Phoenix, Lakers, Dallas & the Nets.

I'll just say this....the Spurs gave an ass whooping to the Lakers...I don't hate them...the team they have doesn't have to be fast or showtime...they play fundamental basketball..so what I'm trying to say is this..outside of the Spurs...no other West team has any chance against Miami...now if the Knicks make it to the Finals..then its wide open..GL bitches.

Not surprising. As usual to the casual NBA fan, the Spurs are boring, and they're on the Steph Curry bandwagon.

I root for the Warriors but not out of hate or spite of the Spurs. It's easy to like them (Warriors). A team of young kids, are the underdogs facing a team like the Spurs that feature living legend Tim Duncan, and play a fun style of basketball.

there is little logic to support OPs claim. I wish he were right thou. but truth is, average NBA fat fan usually cheers for underdog and wants to see close games. Most of the world was cheering for Spurs in game 1. I don't see why game 2 would be different. Elian Gonzalez is still going to go Candela and light everyone up and score over 40+ and Spurs will still have to try and run a comeback on them chokin Warriors. I'd say fans will root for whoever is down in the game.

regardless of who wins NBA fat fat will be happy with this series IMo

I would be rooting for Steph and The Warriors, too, but they're playing The Spurs. I've always liked The Warriors (repeated this in several different threads already), but The Spurs come first... obviously. :p:

Eh, I wouldn't go there.

Spurs have pulled this several times throughout the years so its not like we have room to talk about collapses without impunity.

The thing with people cheering for teh Warriors is not even because they're underdogs, its just because they flat out dont like the Spurs for being so successful with so little.

Those faggots can suck a big black cock.

ppl seem to miss the fact that Warriors lost because of Clay Thompson fouling out. That triggered a Dick Jefferson showing and pretty much ignited Spurs run.

I am very curious to see how Thompson plays this game 2. He really was stupid in game 1 and fouled too much. IMO the X Factor of game 2 will be THompson's play. If he stays in the game and delivers. Spurs could be in for a world of hurt.

Not me.

Screw the Warriors and their favoured golden child.

Hopefully Curry hits puberty during the series and his other balls start dropping.
