I like it...the award is a farce anyway: just look at the list!

Guys like Mike Brown/Avery Johnson/Mike Dunleavy/Mike D'Antoni/Scotty Brooks each have as many as Phil Jackson :D...nobody won twice in a row. Sloan has none!

I just didn't like the idea of Spoelstra getting one. I can live with Karl even though Thibs would have gotten my vote and you could make a case for Pop.

Thibs should have gotten it and Pop a close second. Karl's team was upset and backdoor swept tbh. Stupid voters.

They 2012-13 Nuggets didn't get backdoor swept.

Oh yah lol. I thought they lost in 5. But you get the point tbh, the COY would've adjusted and beat the 6th seed.

I like how every year people meltdown about regular season awards given to a player/coach/team etc. that choked in the 1st round.

Not to sound like a homer, but the Spurs won 58 games when Duncan, Manu, and Parker missed a ton of games combined. Not sure how many exactly, but I know it was a lot. And Kawhi and Stephen Jackson missed a few games as well. And they still almost won 60 games. Good for George Karl though, I have no problem with him winning it. The Nuggets won 57 games without a single All-Star on their team this year. Thibs was a strong candidate as well.

BUT... Please tell me how Eric Spoelstra, winning only 2 more games than the Spurs with the most stacked roster in the NBA in 15 years, finished ahead of Pop? That's a joke. The point is moot, but I just laughed when I saw that. A 60-win season should almost be expected with that ridiculous roster imo.

Then how do you explain a HOF coach losing to an 8-seed? :lol

Karl has been coaching in the league for a long time so he must be doing something right. But the thing about him is I don't even know what he coaches. He doesn't even have an offensive system. There are no sets. He has no sets in the halfcourt. He has no sets for out of bounds plays. He just tells his players to go out there and play. Perhaps he's a good defensive coach, but I don't even know. He must be a decent motivator, I guess. But does he even really coach anything?

This is clearly a lifetime achievement award. He barely did enough to warrant consideration this year, and voters clung to any reason they could find to vote for him simply because he had never won it before, and he is widely respected around the league. And there were no clear-cut frontrunners this year.

With that said, I'm glad Mark Jackson and Erik Spoelstra didn't win it. :lol

Congrats @georgekarl22 (https://twitter.com/georgekarl22), good season and nice run in the playoffs…very entertaining.

I could be wrong cause it's hard to translate sarcasm via text but that looks like the Zen Master is trolling Georg Karl..

There were probably at least 5 coaches whom should have received it or had some consideration. I'm fine w/ Karl getting the COY.

Well deserved. Pop has 2 already, doesn't need another. It usually indicates you did more than you should have with what you had. We don't want that. That's why Phil never got more than one.

It's a regular season award. Some of you need to learn how to wrap your minds around that.

How do you explain the result of the 120 million dollar experiment? :lol
