View Full Version : Spurs: Spurs Should Not Be in the Second Round

I called them out before the 1st round. Though they play a system and play it well, they are stacked with shitty players and in the playoffs those shitty players stink it up. Bonner, Neal, Green (yeah he hit some outside shots last night) all are just pawns on the floor. Tim is too slow to keep up with the Warriors, and Manu's body has deceived his mind. He cannot do what he used to do. Parker is a one man show basically, and that's never going to work against a team that's 80% offense. Teams that rely on their PG to score all the points are not going anywhere.

Had the Lakers been healthy, I doubt the Spurs see the 2nd round. They certainly won't see the next round.

The Warriors are a flash in the pan. They won't go past the next round if they get there. They remind me of the GSW that beat Dallas, shooting lights out but no defense. Spurs missed every outside shot in the 1st half and still have 43 points.

Spurs are slow, they're done. They were done 4 years ago. No one told them yet. That shows just how shitty the league is that the Spurs can consistently be 1st or 2nd in the West at the end of the season.

So what you're implying is that we're lucky to be in the 2nd round because we got to play the biggest failure in sports history?

Can't say I disagree.

How can any team defend against all the bullshit shooting from GS tbh?

The Lakers/Celtics era of the NBA has evolved into the Thunder/Heat era.

Absolutely. How could a team be any worse than LA? They benched all their players with fake injuries to try to escape the mantra of shittiest team ever, but it stuck. No fucking way even the Wizards would have lost that bad 4 in a row.

spurs made the WCF last year and only got defeated by OKC who still had beard nigga and westchuck at that time. OKC are fucked with beard gone and chuck down, so its safe to say spurs are now the favorite to come out of the west, and the spurs will only play better when splitter comes back to their lineups in game 3 or 4.

immigrants have no faith in their own country and such insecurity also extends to basketball, however, DMC would be welcome on our fan base once he decides to jump over onto our board tbh

Aint gonna happen. I don't jump and I'm too old to come floating into Miami on a wooden pallet.

I say this even before the playoffs started, hell almost at the beginning of the season.

I knew Spurs ceiling was the second round. Given that for the past 3 years they have kept all their players intact up until the Jackson trade and the end result I just knew this was fool's gold. You can adjust all you want but the lack of movement management wise always catches up to you.

You would think they would catch on on this fact seen as how the last 3 years has played out. Carbon copy.

We need to get rid of some hot gargabe on this team.

A new outlook is badly needed.

too many useless PGs and SGs. I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurms traded Bonner, Bane, and Splitter for more PGs this offseason

Yeah this team is looking pretty shitty. They're not getting by this GSW squad.

Bill_Brasky

Yeah Warriors are a flukey shooting team on a hot streak, and our perimeter defense is pretty horrid. The late game execution in this game by both teams was complete shit, Spurs were just cold this time around.

I don't think it's crazy that this team makes the finals tbh. The other three teams have massive holes too. This isn't the Western Conference where you had to go through Shaq, Nowitzki, and the Kings. Once Westbrook went down the conference became a coin-flip and honestly, I wouldn't be all that surprised by any of the four teams still standing getting the chance to play fluffer to Miami.

DMC

No way the Spurs, with the way Manu is chucking up bricks, with the way the rest of the team is playing, is going to make the finals. They better hope the Warriors put them out of their miseries so that they don't get injured by fat Gasol tbh.

spurs looked tired as shit out there and it's easy to see they're still doing warm-ups. just hope they can get back to their best form in time. they can't beat the warriors while playing at 60-70% of their normal level imho

That aint gonna happen either. Until Duncan hangs it up, which he won't before he's pretty much benched for 40 minutes a game, the Spurs are going to ride out the regular season fairytale for all it's worth.

The alternative is that they become the Wolves.

True, Tim is still winded and he's tired. You can see he's probably dehydrated but they make big personal doctor money so they can suck it up. They got to the second round easily because other players on other teams were suffering as well.

there ain't never any easy path in the west imho. hope this game turns out to be a wake-up call to them spurs and a kick up the arse. they can't beat warriors playing blithely like they did in the first two games and they were really lucky to win game 1 tbh. they coasted through the lakers and they're severely lacking in match fitness now after a week w/o no matches, it takes time for them to get back in form imho.

If you ever were a top of the line athlete in tip top shape you'd know it only takes a few days to get out of shape in reference to competition shape.

Also, stomach virus tells me that Tim shat himself a couple nights ago and that he was probably dehydrated.

Pop is forcing it big but they do better small against this team. Pop is going to go with Tim regardless, win or lose, because that's more important to Pop than getting to the next round.

its like when you come back to school from summer vacation you often struggle in sport classes, because you're severely lacking in fitness imho.

I give Tim a pass even without the stomach virus. Manu too sonce he can barely walk nowadays. I'm referring to the more younger guys on this team. Parker, Green, Leonard and co have no excuses.

Those guys on the Warriors went balls deep from game one even though they had like 3 days of rest and even when tired home boys Curry and Thompsom went berserk tonight.

Leonard has been fine.

It's not new that the team with a week off often struggles in the 1st few games. We seem to forget that little tidbit every year. The Spurs did best when they were playing b2b2b last year, however because they had rest in the playoffs, the Clippers went up by 20+ on them, but the Spurs recovered. It happened a couple of times. These old/young teams have a window of time they can rest before they become rusty, and a window of time they can play before they become exhausted. It's about rhythm, and the Warriors play an up tempo game. The Spurs try to walk the ball up and feed the bigs but that doesn't do shit if you cannot defend at the other end and the Warriors are running a hybrid of the SSOL (which they are).

agree on everything you said in this post but if i remember correct, you said just last night that the spurs would have no chance to get past the 2nd round this year? i guess its common for well-educated people to oscillate between different ideas imho

OP is overreacting per par.

Or can I say Thunder doesn't deserve to be here too because Durant has acne? Or how about the Warriors, they have a faggot in their team bet they don't deserve to be in the 2nd round right?

The only reason Spurs are in the 2nd round is because they faced the Lakers, who shouldn't have been in the playoffs.

Yall act like were going up against a juggernaut. Yes, the Spurs are flawed and stand no chance against the Heatles but yall cant sit there and tell me that GS plays a winning brand of basketball either. Even with as good of shooters as they are, relying on outside shooting as heavily as they do is a recipe for disaster.
