View Full Version : Refs rigged the s out of game 2

I'm sorry, but I have to go there. The Spurs made countless runs in the second half and the Warriors responded with key buckets, yes. But the refs let them play incredibly physical with their screens, and yet the Spurs seemed to get called for the most ticky tack calls all game. It was unwatchable, really. It's times like these that the NBA really needs to be called out on their game fixing. I understand they want the home winning streak to be broken and they want a long series for revenue, but god damn that was hard to watch.

Spurs sucked. They shot a better percentage, out-rebounded us, played better team ball. If you want to complain about the physical play, there's nothing stopping the Spurs from putting Baynes in there and dropping Curry/Thompson on their ass

spurs not making their shots and playing stupid on offense doesn't help.

No way, Spurs make a few more wide open shots and a few more free throws and they win this game. Spurs just played like complete shit again.

Refs can't make the FTs for the Spurs...

I'm not blaming the refs, but I said since Game 1 that Bogut and anyone on the Warriors team who sets a screen either moves or holds onto our guy who is trying to get through the screen. Pay attention to it next game. Kawhi is a strong guy and yet he's taking long to recover onto his man after a Warrior sets a screen. Why? Because they're holding or moving on every one of those screens...

We got more calls imo. Spurs were too offensively inept down the stretch.

blaming the refs? really? this wasn't one of those games tbh. we bricked countless WIDE open three pointers and couldn't even hit our free throws. plus missed shots at the rim. easy stuff. we're picking their defense apart and are flat out missing bunnies

:lol Spurs are struggling with a 47-win team, that has nothing to do with the refs.

That "charge" on Manu in the closing minutes was BS, IMO. We shouldn't have put ourselves in that position, anyways, though, tbh.

Refs were helping the Spurs early on, Spurs just fuckin' sucked out there.

There's games where you can complain about the refs

This game wasnt one of them

It just evens out. The refs rigged Game 1 to let the Spurs come back.

The only cheating that was done tonight was that we didn't get our required three minutes of Richard Jefferson.

The calls weren't that bad. It was a combination of flukey shots by Golden State and poor overall play by the Spurs.

The Warriors are playing above themselves and the Spurs are playing below themselves. Combination = a loss. They should have lost game 1 too with how bad they played. If they come out sluggish again in game 3, it's probably over.

Yeah they killed the shitty Lakers, but they were one of the worst teams in the playoffs. Spurs sucked before the playoffs started. . .this is just a continuation of how bad they played before the end of the season.

Lakers were one of the worst teams in the playoffs because they had no business being there in the first place. LA needed dozens of crooked 40+ FTA nights just to sneak into the post-season. In reality, Utah should have been 8th and Rockets 7th. Playing the Rockets would have better prepared us for a team like Golden State.

Yeah, pretty much. Though I'm not sure if it's the fatigue or injuries that hurt them in those last couple of weeks. Probably a little bit of both.

Completely agree man. I wish we played the Rockets instead of the lakers. It would have gone more games, but at least we wouldn't have been resting on our laurels and thinking we were amazing after a series with them. On the bright side, maybe this kick in the ass will jumpstart the team. If we get Splitter back and Duncan is 100%, hopefully that'll help add enough frontcourt presence to make up for the hot/cold shooting difference between the teams.

The only thing I agree on is a lot of moving screens. Bogut is great at those, he sets awful screens and doesn't get called. Other than that I have no complaints.

I disagree. The way a see it is that the Spurs dodged a bullet at home and avoided going to Oakland 0-2. If the Spurs somehow wake up we can still win this one in 5 or 6. Lucky for them, the law od the averages is at their side as GS is playing well avobe their averages and Spurs below.

Totally agree. The refs made damn sure that every single thing that Klay Thompson threw up went in. Astounding efficiency by those refs.

I saw Tim Duncan getting away with way too many steps before his shots.

You picked the wrong game yesterday to blame the refs. Aside from that charge on Manu that should have been a block on Bogut, I thought the refs let both teams play physical without a lot of ticky-tack calls.

If you wanted to see a badly reffed game, you should have watched Heat-Bulls. When even a commentator (Steve Kerr) says he doesn't blame a player for the stream of profanities he delivered towards a ref, it must have been pretty bad.

It would be nice if the refs would call a moving screen every time it is committed. Some teams benefit more than others from being able to hipcheck the screened defender.

Too many of you overlook the crappy shooting that the Spurs have been guilty of in the first 2 games. In game 2, we shot a whooping 39.3 % from the field and 23.8% frin 3 pt. Translates to about 15 point we missed more than usual. Should have made 3 to 4 more FTs. % was below season average. Let's put 98 % of the blame where it counts. On the shooters, Neal 2/9, Green 4/12, Parker 7/12, with some of these shots coming at POINT BLANK range. LAYUPS. Inside, 10 FEET. How about the ball movement? 14 loosy assists for a Spurs team that average 25. Is there a problem with WHY we the SPURS lost this game. Yeah, I agree moving screens are a problem and physical play is just part of the playoffs but a couple should have been called that weren't.

GSW did not play that great of defense. We missed the shots. This was not a steal game for GSW it was a gift from the Spurs. Make shots we win, miss shots we lose.

I'd be hard-pressed to argue that the Spurs inability to finish at the rim when contested has nothing to do with the Warriors' defense.

I keep hearing about the offense and yes a few buckets late last night we could've stole another game but it was the first half D. Pop blames mistakes but I believe it was his shitty plan to sit back and let them shoot. We need to switch on every pick if they end up with a few favorable mismatches to be it. As long as we're trading 3's for 2's we're fucked. They will cool off we need to wakeup.
