Held Golden State to only 38 points in the second half. The defence did enough to win this.

We only scored 17 in the 4th quarter. The defence gave us the opportunity, but couldn't do it on the offensive end.

Spurs are getting great looks, mostly wide open, they just can't make them..

Getting into a jump shooting contest with a great jump shooting team may not be the best idea, tbh. Pop is the master of making adjustments to match up with lesser teams.

Yeah, we missed a ton of shots in the fourth quarter, tbh. Open looks, too. Huge bricks by Kawhi, Neal, Manu, and Green in the closing minutes.

Agreed, but Duncan on Bogut isn't a great matchup for us. We were trying to go into Leonard in the post but couldn't get the ball in there.

Spurs shot terrible tonight. If the Spurs shoot their average, and Thompson doesn't go insane from the three, they would have won. We got a series.

Since the Spurs spent 99.9 percent of the regular season NOT going to Leonard in the post, maybe the second round of the playoffs isn't the best time to start forcing it.

The defense was the problem in the first half, but the second half was encouraging.

The offense, though, was a problem the whole game. They got some good looks and opportunities off the boards, but couldn't hit the shots they absolutely had to have.

There are only so many ways to adjust this crappy roster.

Espcially from 3 with Kawhi, Neal, and Green all struggling from downtown. At some point they have to stop forcing the 3 point shot and take it to the rim, or throw a pump fake and move in for a mid-range J instead...

Maybe one of these years Pop will prepare the team for the playoffs

Correction: There are only so many ways to adjust the roster and make it crappier. Pop keeps finding it. Doubt me? Zero minutes together for Splitter and Duncan.

Can't possibly play them together in this series. Neither can close out on 3 point shooters.

Again, a guy who hasn't practiced since before game 3 against the Lakers wasn't going to get a lot of minutes.

Don't know why that's so controversial.

Duncan-Splitter maybe could work... It could serve as a deterrent to players wanting to drive the lane. It could allow for perimeter defenders to focus more on defending the 3-point line and not worry about getting beat off the dribble and allowing penetration. Threes have been the killer in both games. Funneling their guards towards 7-footers in the lane for contested shots, seems like a better option than allowing Curry and Thompson to operate with space behind the 3-point line.

I'm sure there are ways to exploit that type of lineup, but it's not as if there are significantly better options available. The biggest problem is that Tony is a HUGE liability on defense.

If the spurs hit there shots tonight and FT's we're not having this conversation, we're cruising to a 5 or 6 point win. We'll play a complete game on Friday and we'll win.

Agree when Splitter is ready, you have to pound them inside. If Barnes is going to hit threes, I'll take posting him up on the other end. If/when Memphis plays GS, you think they ZBo and Gasol see no time together? Should exploit that type of mismatch, not avoid it. What Splitter also allows is no Blair/Bonner lineups with Diaw spelling the other minutes.

Yeah, what they've been doing the last two games is much better.

Not getting a lot of minutes is one thing, but he's been made the backup to Tim Duncan again. You watch way too fucking much basketball not to recognize this. Nobody is that stupid.

Well in the last 24 minutes we held them to 37 points. We got the stops to win it in the second half, just couldn't score enough.

Unfortunately the games are 48 minutes. Fucking with your lineup hurts offense and defense. Your three point shooting specialist starting center got one attempt and didn't make shots easier for anyone.
