just curious, has anyone ever moved away from their home country? still there? how long? was it worth it? what motivated it? any tips on things to do/avoid?

My friend had to move because his dad got relocated to Hong Kong....I feel bad for him...

yes, I left Texas, went to Florida, then Chicago, the Vagina, err Virginia then Cuba then the Persian Gulf!!! Don't ever go to the mideast unless you are threatend with your life!! You think the summers are bad here?? :smokin

Was it Worth it= FUCK NO
Things to Avoid/do=Avoid taking pics of the natives/ do get drunk on a daily basis!!!

Yes. As a college undergrad I spent 6 months in Hamburg, Germany...eerily at the same time Mohammed Atta was there at the university. Thank God I never met him.

I also lived in the Netherlands for a couple of years.

I've been living in Brazil for the past 5 years, although I do spend about 5-6 months in the U.S. each year and still call San Antonio home, where I do have a home and family.

In a few years I'll be back home in Texas on a permanent basis...although I'll always travel abroad rather frequently for business.
