It's just funny to see how a couple of business men from Oklahoma can cause so much havoc in Seattle lol

they should just get it overwith. it's sad Sacramento gets fucked over, but ultimately the NBA and Stern especially made a mistake moving a team out of Seattle to OKC.

Considering that the Supersonics went from a bottom feeder team that couldn't even get their own fanbase excited about them to the top team in the league that garners ratings around the country; I'd say it was pretty solid.

Also OKC Thunder price tag: 350 Mil
Sacramento Kings price tag: 625 Mil

Of course I'm fucking mad, Westbrook is a promising extremely competitive young athlete that could achieve great things if he developed right; it's fucking painful to see someone like him or Rose have a knee injury in their prime. I don't fucking expect you to be able to relate but it really fucking pains me to see something like this to happen to anyone; fuck this year's playoffs, you don't know what can happen with a fucking knee injury and it all happened on a stupid play that could of been avoided.

even if t hey buy the team and get it, no way that team will be worth 625m....

First of all, Hansen's just buttdevestated that the NBA doesn't want to let him steal the team.... again, if it was only about money to the NBA, he would already own the Kings...

Second of all, how on Earth would he actually make any money out of this? $625 million? Is he insane? He seriously can't just wait for Adam Silver to take over and the new TV rights deal to be negotiated and try to get an expansion team then?

You better hope they dont get a team or they will make it their mission to spoil Oklahoma's future plans.

This rivalry would be sweet.

Dude is a hedgefund manager, he has millions to waste. But if the sale goes through there's a good chance it's going to bankrupt him and Seattle.

Not going to lie I'd love to see it, mostly because there's no way in hell the Kings will ever get up to OKC's level :lmao

Some people are blind with pride. When you've managed to accumulate a net worth over a billion dollars it's hard to imagine failing at anything.

If he keeps the team long enough, he may recoup his investment.
But he's buying it for fun too, must have more efficient ways of making money.

It will be good to see how the Kings react.

A franchise that has drafted some good players with high picks, must be worth much more then an expansion franchise. Seattle already had Durant when bought.

That has jack shit to do with moving. Unless you believe standing up like a bunch a 2 year olds before your team makes a shot, actually make your team better

It has a shit ton to do with the ownership, if you look into interviews with past players a lot of them will bitch about how Schultz tried to run his franchise like his coffee empire and none of the players could tolerate his shit. As OKC has proved premier players couldn't give two shits about where they play, they can travel to LA and Southh Beach whenever the hell they want in the summer to fuck what ever bitches they want. What they won't tolerate is having to deal with shitty management and coaches who won't give them what they want. The league is an asylum ran by the inmates.

Does it not seem the least bit shady to hold the city of Sacramento hostage by hanging half a billion dollars over the Maloofs and bribing the other franchise owners with 4 million dollars each?

this whole situation is a massive clusterfuck, but least it will give me some drama to follow.

they shouldn't have ever moved a team out of Seattle imo. You don't go from a dynamic market to a place known for a terrorist act and Flaming Lips. the fact they are even considering screwing over Sacramento shows that it wasn't the best decision.

Owners always do this shit, they ruin a franchise with shitty management, and if a city doesn't want to tax its citizens for a new stadium, they just take their ball and go somewhere else. imo, the only way Sacramento holds onto its team is if public or media outcry is strong enough.

Apparently the owners told the Maloofs to go piss up a rope during the BoG meeting, so if they think they're going to bully the league into letting them move the team, they're delusional :lol

Which seemed to be the case until Seattle upped the ante by a few hundred million. And it's a question of whether the stadium should truly be a private project or civic project. Makes much more sense for a city to fund a stadium like that so as to attract the NBA and also performers and other attractions to bring revenue into the city. I don't really quite understand the gripe of taxing citizens to fund something like that, having the Thunder come to OKC has done wonders with injecting money into the city as well as attracting bigger names in show business.

It's probably the cheap ass Mexican food and hot wings I've been chowing down on in Arizona; these playoffs always make me put on a bit of weight. The temperature being in the hundreds isn't helpful either.

Most owners are quite well positioned financially with the last CBA, they're not cash strapped enough to be easily swayed and bought with that last effort of "bribery" by the Maloofs & their Seattle group collaborator. When your bottom line is secure, your ego & pride will come out first, and that might be the strongest determinant factor in settling this issue among ownerships BOG.

SpursIndonesia
05-12-2013, 08:05 AM
I want to be more educated & clear regarding the issue. The ownership BOG/NBA can't deny a sale to the highest bidder -out of anti trust issue, but they CAN forbid a team moving to other city, correct ?? But then the new, non local owner can form a similar formula used by Clay Bennet to steal a franchise and move it to its intended city, by raping the city in the rear regarding the new demanded arena deal, CMIIW.

if it was only about money to the NBA, he would already own the Kings...

not true. It's been reported what swung the owners to Sac was Vivek Ranadive's promise to not take any revenue sharing from the league. That meant a direct contribution to the yearly bottom line of every other team in the program's system in perpetuity. Millions of dollars. No matter what anybody says, It is always about money.

The only way Seattle gets the Kings at this point is if Hansen's group offers every owner a "relocation fee" payment in the $5M-$10M range in addition to what they pay the Maloofs.
