I don't wanna have to play another game in this arena.

actually we have looked better here than at home, in San Antonio I had little hope after games 1 & 2 but after 3 &4 I know we can beat these guys. Shooting regressed to the mean.

Biggest spurs playoff collapse since Lakers 08 game 1.

7 game series... TP's calf might not hold up :cry

Enough of that Curry injury// it might not be that bad at all.

I can't blame the big 3 they all scored.. until the last 3 minutes.. Neal didn't help so TP at least can rest.
missed opportunity they can hold on to their lead just need 1 pt to win

2-2 back to square one

Spurs played well most of the game, but the stretch in the 3rd was awful. Duncan got way too many plays run for him down the stretch.

oh and can we get more than 1 day of rest?? fuck this scheduling. Indiana and also OKC series both got 2 days in between and they are geographically closer. Bullshit.

2 day rest between g6 and g7 iirc

thanks for blowing the calls ref, its one thing that we played absolutely horrible with our shooting percentages and free throws and generally poor play calling by pop, but thats stuff that WE can control, those two blown calls by the refs on the out of bounds plays that would have been the spurs balls then them REFUSING to review it for posession, well that is just bullshit and the spurs definately need to send tapes of that shit to the league because these refs were doing their best ostrich impersonations out there tonight but instead of a hole in the ground they had their heads up their asses.

I'm watching game 5 on mute.

Golden State this, Golden State that. Stfu already.
Rodney Dangerfield of the NBA for sure...but we need to realize that this is just the way the national media feels about middle America; they could care less of what you want. The only way to fight back is to just not watch ABC, ESPN or any of the channels that pull bullshit like this.

Harrison Barnes was 9-26 from the field..

Yup. Our defense on them was ok for the most part. Offense was inexcusable. In fact, it's been terrible the entire series...which is weird because the Warriors weren't a great defensive team in the regular season. We're making these guys look much better than they actually are

Everything went right for the Spurs in this game, Curry hurt, their bigs in foul trouble the whole game, warriors bricking everything, and we still couldn't get the win. Smh.
yeh but in fairness, refs completely ignored every foul Bogut had after he got in trouble.

Spurs threw this game away. Yeah, the refs fucked us on two terrible calls by refusing to go to replay for. . .no apparent reason beyond being faggots, but the Spurs just sucked, sucked, and sucked some more all night.

Absolutely terrible offense. Arguably one of the worst offensive performances of the year. We really wasted an easy game that we should have won. Warriors sucked even worse than us until they realized they still had a chance in a game they should have been blown out in. . .so they just get excited and start playing great and confident.

Spurs really threw this one away. I hope it doesn't come back to bite us. Game 5 is now a must-win. Great.

I'm freakin pissed. Spurs had this game, and Pop had horrible lineups and the team settled for jumpers. FUCKING ATTACK THE RIM! They attacked the rim at the beginning of the 4th, then Pop took out Splitter and put in Neal. That ended the game. RC Buford better have a talk with Pop about this shit.

yep, he also put Duncan in too early in the 4th when he needed rest. Just about everyone watching could tell Duncan was gassed yet they kept feeding him the ball.

I've never seen a team shit the bed at the FT line quite like the Spurs did today. 11 bricks from the foul line for an NBA team is ridiculous. Add to the that, some of the worst defensive rebounding I have ever seen (19 offensive rebounds). Spurs deserved to get their shit packed in today and Warriors have this in 6.

BTW, Hubie Brown and Mike Tirico are some of the most biased motherfuckers I have ever seen call a game. Every little thing the Warriors did was commented with a "there you go...nice...that's how you do it". Brown sounds like a father watching his kids play little league...I hope that senile fuck chokes on his alzheimer pills.

BTW BTW, the refs in this game were fucking atrocious! 2 blown out of bounds calls in the last 2 minutes of the game and they not once decided to use replay. Both plays would have been huge and gone the Spurs way, ESPECIALLY that obvious out of bounds play on Bogut on the last possession. They finally decided to use review in OT WITH THE WARRIORS UP FUCKING 9?!?!? Well played David Stern, if you don't want San Antonio to advance in the playoffs, relocate us to fucking Seattle or something.

yes. but that's probably because i'm a fan and i cheer expecting to win every freaking game.

i missed the game today. but i'm sure bogut was getting away with moving screens. i don't think it has been a badly officiated series though other than the warriors being allowed to move on teh screens and that matters cuz it's the main reason how curry can get open on a bad ankle. why are we shooting freethrows so bad this series?

Yep, I won't sit back like some and say oh refs blah blah. You shoot that badly and miss 14 of your last 16 shots, you lose. It is amazing they even made it to OT shooting that bad.

I expect a Game 5 victory. Honestly, this game was ours. We just slipped in the final few minutes. We got homecourt game 5. Just play like Game 3 and Game 4 (most of it besides final few minutes and OT) and the victory will be ours. But if Warriors win Game 5, I don't know what to say.

The Spurs May Finally Be Getting Too Old For This Shit

It's hard to imagine the Spurs getting old. Maybe it's because they've already spent so many years as the elder statesmen of the Western Conference that we just expect them to keep doing what they do forever—consistently outplaying and outsmarting younger teams while staring down the perils of age but never quite giving into them. We expect the the Duncan-Ginobili-Parker triumvirate to succeed every year, and fail only when they are confronted by a team that is truly more talented. This is a team that we expect to never be undone by its own shortcomings. Last night, those expectations were turned on their head.

For the majority last night's Game 4 against the Warriors, the Spurs were in control. Neither team was shooting the ball great, but the Spurs were doing things that harkened back to the old days. Tim Duncan spent the first half controlling the paint to the tune of 14 points and eight rebounds, and Manu Ginobili was 4-6 from behind the arc and generally looking like his old self. The Warriors fought back in the second half, but with 4:48 left to go in the game, the Spurs held an eight-point lead. Then, suddenly, they started to look very old.

From the 4:48-mark of the fourth quarter to the end of overtime, the Spurs scored just six points. Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan combined to shoot 1-8 during that stretch, and they finished a combined 5-19 in the fourth quarter and overtime. More alarming than the dry spell itself, though, was how the Spurs looked while they let a potential 3-1 series lead slip away from them.

Those weren't bonheaded or poorly executed plays, they were just plays that were made by guys who might finally be too old to make them. Duncan has hit that shot countless times over better defenders than Andrew Bogut, and the dagger three was once a specialty of Manu Ginobili's. Both Ginobili and Duncan have made careers out of coming up big in situations like that, but this time they just didn't have the legs to finish the job.

It was only a year ago that the ever-aged Spurs were playing like a superorganism (http://deadspin.com/5914398/the-unappreciated-playground-genius-of-the-san-antonio-spurs) and blowing out a Thunder team that was stacked with supernovic talent. You can sense that some of that brilliance still exists, but so much more of it has diminished. Watch that first missed three by Ginobili again, the one that comes after he puts Harrison Barnes on the floor with an inhuman behind-back the dribble. As Ginobili finishes that crossover, it seems inevitable that his shot is going in. He's Manu Ginobili, after all—the semi-awkward, euro-stepping genius who's been hitting beautiful and impossible shots his entire career. He's still got it, you think as Barnes goes tumbling to the ground. This shot is money. This is what he does.

Except this isn't what he does anymore. In that moment, age seemed to have finally caught up with Manu and the rest of the Spurs. Watching last night's game, it was hard to believe that this Spurs team was the same one that pushed the Thunder to their limits last year. The Warriors are good and young and spunky, but they are far from transcendent, and their superstar spent most of last night hobbling around the perimeter without the ball. Last night, for the first time in what seems like an eternity, the Spurs found themselves in a playoff game that they should have won, but simply couldn't. It will take some getting used to, but the Spurs might not be the Spurs anymore.
