pinchot was balky on perfect strangers, harriett winslow was a character on perfect strangers who later became so popular she had her own spinoff on family matters, steve urkel later took over family matters and crossed over onto step by step which in its last season had none other than pinchot as 'jean luc' carol's long lost french half brother.
