you have to hand it to them: it will be tough to score on 6 guys.

The media doesn't vote for the defensive team, the head coaches do.

Ask any coach in the NBA who he wants on his defensive team and Ibaka's gonna be picked by the majority of them for their PF..plain and simple. I suppose you know more than most NBA coaches, though.

And as it's been stated, the coaches vote on this. This isn't media BS. So tell us what head coaching experience you have...

Only a drooling retard would pick Ibricka over Duncan, and as it turns out, many coaches fit the bill there :lol

Agree mostly. IMO:

1st team:
C Howard
F Duncan
F James
G Allen
G Conley

2nd team
C Gasol
F Ibaka
F George
G Bradley
G Paul

Find the mistake!?!

You'd rather have Joakim Noah anchoring your defense than Dwight Howard? Sounds like a personal problem...

I 100% would!

He is just more mobile and plays with so much emotion (which is cruicial on the defensive end). Other than Duncan he would be the guy I'd choose to anchor my defense.

As for D12: The DPOY awards he got may be deserved, but ranking THIS season its a nobrainer to not have him on any defensive team.

A healthy Howard is the best in the NBA, but his defense wasn't special for the entire 1st half of the season..his defense was impressive during the 2nd half of the season, especially considering he had arguably the worst defensive supporting cast in the NBA(probably the worst defensive backcourt in the league in Nash/Blake and Kobe)..

Tyson Chandler has no business being on the all-defense team this year, tbh..the Knicks defense was virtually identical in lineups that featured Kenyon Martin rather than Chandler, tbh..

KG struggled on offense this year, but his defense was phenomenal, tbh..

I would go:

G Tony Allen
G Paul George
F Kevin Garnett
F Tim Duncan
C Marc Gasol

G Thabo Sefolosha
G Andre Iguodala
F Lebron James
F Larry Sanders
C Joakim Noah

HM: Omer Asik, Avery Bradley, Luol Deng, Dwyane Wade, Roy Hibbert, Mike Conley..

Amazing how DPOY doesn't get 1st team. NBA needs to fix the consistency on this. It's like winning the CotY with the worst regular season record.

Hey hey hey, now. I apologized a long time ago for that.

Kevin Love clearly didn't deserve that.

And it was the black Kevin Love.

Lebron coasted on D throughout the 1st half of the season, tbh..Miami struggled on D early on, which generated buzz/false hope from most NBA fans(idiots, tbh), because the entire team was coasting on D, focusing on out scoring opponents with running and gunning..

The Heat rely heavily on Lebron and Wade's defense, both guys turned it on in the 2nd half of the season..

KG's advanced defensive +/- numbers are unbelievable, tbh..his offense is horrible nowadays, but he's still an elite defender..the Celtics made the playoffs solely due to their defense, and KG was the anchor of that D..

:lol the dpoy getting named to the 2nd team

:lol NBA

That's two years in a row, and not surprising, considering the media votes for DPOY and the coaches vote for All D.

The really funny thing is that if there hadn't been a tie for C on the first team, Gasol would have been left off altogether. One of Noah or CHandler would have dropped to the second team. :lol

Ibaka is 196th in the league in opponent points per possession.... somehow got First-Team All Defense :lmao

It's probably because he thinks that blocking a shot into row 20, instead of to a team mate, is a good thing. It just gives the other team another possession. If they tracked blocks that actually become turnovers, Ibaka wouldn't be nearly as high on the block list.

Hell, if they had counted Sanders at his actual position (center) instead of as a forward, Gasol would have been left out entirely.... NBA trying to save face with that one, tbh :lol

Marc Gasol only got 12 points (five 1st, two 2nd votes), Larry Sanders with more points. What a joke that he got DPOY, Timmy should be 2nd team center and Sanders in 2nd team with more votes than Gasol.

I like Gasol, but these teams show what a joke DPOY voting is. Sanders, Duncan, Ibaka, Chandler and Noah all with more All-D votes than Gasol.

Epic failure. CP3 doesn't defend - he goes for steals. How in the fuck does the DPOY not be 1st team all defense? :lol

lol, spearchucker is a glorified Mutombo.

So what if he averages 3 bpg on a team whose best defenders are the Swiss 3 and D guy, the black Dirk, and Nick Collison?

the most overrated hack to ever play the game, he benefits so much playin on stack t eam, a bunch of idiots on his team dont even play a lick of defense, yet he gets credit for them advance stats, very misleading

NBAWOWY.com tracks block data to look at events post block: How often the blocker rebounds it, How often a team mate recovers it, how often out of bounds etc. I doubt the majority of NBA coaches looked at it in determining All Defensive teams though.

Point guards are typically the least impactful players on defense, and steals are probably the biggest way they can make an impact.... CP3 is the best in the league at getting steals though, he's very good at playing the passing lanes especially, tbh....

Kirby REALLY can't defend at all, but I'm sure you'd be riding his nuts per par if he got another undeserved spot on an All-Defensive Team, tbh :lol
