"We got up and moved and it was tough for the fans in Seattle. I wish it didn't go down the way it did," [Durant] said [...]
"I'm enjoying Oklahoma City, but I still love Seattle. It will always have a place in my heart. Hopefully, they're having a talk about getting a team there soon, so we'll see." [...]
"I played there for a year," said Durant, who was drafted in 2007 by the Sonics. "I can't just throw them to the side."

I'd miss Afghanistan if I was living in OKC.

Deep down, Durant doesn't give a fuck about the state of Oklahoma...just like most of the rest of the country. He cares about his team and his teammates but that's as far as it goes. Hell...he threw a Hook 'em sign during a home playoff game last year during the starting lineups.

If that were the case he'd be in LA by now.

I highly doubt his teammates are what is keeping him in OKC; ie: any professional athlete anywhere.

So having a good team doesn't weigh into the decision making process of an athlete?

How insightful.

It's a good thing the Sonics drafted guys like Westbrook and Ibaka or Durant probably would be gone.

Good to see there is at least one honest Thunder fan on this board.

Why the fuck would anyone want to live in Oklahoma? I don't blame him. He had no control over the team moving.

:lol OKCfan pretending Durant actually likes the city of Oklahoma and he'd "already be gone" if he didn't.

The greater majority of star players signs his first contract extension with the team that drafted them. It's rare they bolt right after their rookie deal ends. Lebron did it in Cleveland, Bosh did it in Toronto, Melo did it in Denver, Dwight did it in Orlando, etc., so Durant signing one extension with OKC doesn't mean anything. Additionally, when Durant signed his extension in 2010, the Thunder were the sexy team everyone loved that went from 23 wins to 50 wins and played a really competitive series with LA in the 1st round. His teammates were 21 year old Westbrook, 23 year old Jeff Green, 20 year old James Harden, and 20 year old Ibaka, so he would have been crazy not to sign an extension given how good his supporting cast looked like it was going to be at the time. Now OKC has pretty much plateaued as a perimeter oriented team that relies on Durant and Westbrook to each score 25+ in order to beat good teams. I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't at least strongly consider going somewhere else when this contract is up, unless OKC finds a way to improve his supporting cast.

It's gonna be hilarious to watch all those fatties sit in their large pools of chicken grease saturated tears when Durant bolts.

Since Durant wants to be like Lebron, I wouldn't be shocked if he leaves when his contract is up. I'm sure it depends on the Thunderefs ceiling at that point in time, but I could see it happening.

and the pelicans would rather move back to new orleans with half of town in water rather than stay in OKC
