The Spurs just went out tonight, played a team they were supposed to beat, did what they were supposed to do, and beat them. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a routine game for the Spurs. No big surprises, no big shockers, no trash talking, no big celebrations. So what now, Spurs doubters? What happens when the Warriors don't make shots? Curry and Thompson made shots in Game 1 and 2 and were made out to be some new breakout superstars. But what happens when their shots don't go in? Then what? What are you going to do about it? Where's the storylines and subplots about the underdog Warriors overcoming the Spurs?
Again, no trash talking here. No big celebrations. The Spurs just did what they were supposed to do. No big accomplishment.
Nothing personal against the Warriors. No trash talking against them. They're just not that good. They don't belong in the playoffs, so for them to lose this game tonight, there's no shame in it because everyone expected them to lose. They made a couple of shots and got a couple of bogus calls to make this a 3-2 series, but they're better off being on vacation by now. Again, the Warriors should just be happy to be in the playoffs at all, so there's no shame in losing. Meanwhile, the Spurs will get ready for the Western Conference Finals. These first two rounds have been pretty easy wins all around. The Spurs have not faced any challenges this postseason and have not played against any great players, so let's hope they respond well when that first challenge comes.
