View Full Version : Who Wins Game 6?

This series has been much more hotly contested than Spurs fans, or basketball fans in general, expected. For the first two games especially the Warriors really came out firing but the Spurs responded with stifling defense on Curry and Thompson. However the Warriors have shown that they can still play the Spurs tough, and even win, despite their two big stars struggling from the field. Game 6 will be an elimination game in Golden State where the Warriors will have their backs to the wall and have the support of one of, if not THE, best home crowd in the NBA. So...who wins? Vote and post your thoughts.

Until you said that you were posting a great post. Crowd doesn't play that much of a part in winning the games. We are accustom to loud crowds in the ATT Center. We just dont get the credit for it. It was actually louder with fewer people in late game 1 at SA than either game in Oakland.

As to who wins, the Spurs will get the victory because of experience and depth. GSW will have to play their stars 48 mins if they are to have a chance and it will end in the early part of the 4th quarter when they are worn out.

Game 6 will be a double-digit win for the Spurs. Spurs in 6. Book it.

I believe that the Spurs will win. I hope that the spurs will win. I picked the spurs in 6 and then switched it to 7.

I think it will be very close and GS will get a lot of goofy calls. GS is not accustomed to playing effective defense and that is why they foul so often. If the refs call the fouls, we will win... not easily, but convincingly.

The reason I think we will win is that I believe that GS has lost their confidence. They will act cocky and if we let them get on a roll they will swagger, but if we stay with our defense (and the refs don't foul us out) they know that we will not go away and they will recognize that they really aren't at good a team as we are.

I don't want this to come back to SA for the 7th game. Because then anything can happen.

Honestly I don't give home crowds the credit that most others probably do but I would say that it still plays at least somewhat of a factor. I don't think the Spurs are the kind of team that would let the jeering of drunken Californians throw off their game but it could give the Warriors a psychological boost that could translate to more physical energy. Oh and it's easier to get calls to fall your way when you're playing at home and what refs allow or don't allow can easily make all the difference.

Looks like Memphis might close OKC in 5, I was expecting OKC to at least stretch it into 6...still early in game but it doesn't look good for Thunder so faR

It is imperative we close it out tomorrow not only to avoid the pressure of a game 7, but also to get a couple of days of rest ahead what looks like to be a grueling WCF series.

Spurs will win but I do expect a few meltdown moments (Bonner enters the game and play 16 minutes or Neal enters the game and quickly gets posted.)

This. Warriors will pack it in early (late 3rd / early 4th) when they realize their season is over..

I think it'll be close, and wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors take a decent lead in the 3rd Q, but we'll come through and tough it out in the end.

This relies on Pop keeping Bonner and Neal nailed to the bench, which I hope to fuck he does.

Spurs win fairly comfortably. Curry and Thompson are just not factors in this series anymore. As long as the Spurs shoot their average from the field, they should pull away in the 3rd quarter again. Gotta be active on defense.

Spurs win 105-92 behind 23 from Tony, 20 from Green, and 16 from Manu.

According to the poll we have a 100% chance of victory.

We can blow them out, as long as Pop doesn't f up and put Parker on Curry all game like he stupidly did in Game 4, and keeps Bonner and Neal on the damn bench.

Now that Memphis has closed out there will be an added sense of urgency. I'm looking for it to be similar to yesterday. Close first half, perhaps Oakland with a lead, but approaching the 4th quarter I expect the Spurs to begin opening a lead and running away with it.

Spurs 110
GS 96

Spurs will carry a lead deep into the 4th but the Warriors will roar back to tie. Spurs will then extinguish their hope and win by 5

I honestly expect the Dubs to come out firing, hitting ridiculous shots to start the game and we'll just have to weather the storm and not get caught up in the moment. As long as they do, and not force up shots, keep moving the ball well, we should be ok.

Stabula

We got this as long as Neal and Bonner are strapped to the bench or played very minimally.

I predict that GS will come out firing in 1st qtr but can't get separation.
Spurs will eventually get the lead.
GS will be demoralized and roll over.

GS is done. they ran out of gas. young teams will do that.

OKC and Grizz both shot 37% last night.

Tonight will probably be a low-scoring, close game with the winner doing winning it the crunch time, with one or two baskets or FTs winning it.

The Spurs win-loss splits in these playoffs have shown Tony is the difference. If he's off, Spurs very probably will need Game7.

reading ST this morning I thought we already won the game and that we already were qualified to play against Memphis.

unfortunately this series has the smell of a 7 game series all over.

both teams are very equivalent. Both teams have choked and both teams have had fluke runs. I'ts been an up and down series and why would that change in a game 6. It's Warriors turn to counter punch and they will give it their best shot.

Although I had predicted Spurs in 6 even before series started, I had not expected Spurs to play so badly on stretches, and Warriors to match every Spurs punch for punch. I will cautiously stick with my prediction of Spurs in 6 but beware. This series got game 7 written all over it.

Not to mention Spurs are hurtin like a mofo. Duncan is dragging that leg, Parker is in an iron lung and Manu is crawling like a bug.

Not sure who wins, but what I'm sure of is that Joey Crawford will heavily impact the outcome of tonight's game, which makes me think Golden State will win. Golden State still is America's favorite team right now.

I expect a very very close game, 16-20 lead changes, each team going up 6-7 before letting the other team come back... This game is gonna be a war honestly, prolly the best game to watch in the series (if you're an outside observer obviously...). We're in for a long long night I think... But I feel like the look of all these Spurs guy changed in the middle of the third quarter of Game 5. They smell blood now, and they gonna go for it.
