View Full Version : Salary Question

I was looking at next years salary cap, is it true we have only just over 40 million in contracts? Without Manu, Splitter, Blair and Neal?
Considering the fact that Manu probably signs 2 years, 10 million total, and something along the lines of Splitter for 7 million a year, that puts us at about roughly 52 million for next season, is that right?

Considering we were at about 70 million this season, would that mean that we have about 15-18 million a year to offer someone? A bit confused if someone can clear it up for me, if that's the case, then the Spurs should be A LOT better next season shouldn't they?

Thanks!

More likely around 11 million in cap space.

the first question that needs to be answered is "what will the NBA salary cap be next season"

From what I understand, Stern announced that the NBA's revenue was pretty damn high this year, higher than expected, so the salary cap might also go up accordingly

Cap could be at $66 million(Larry Coon stated as much) meaning the spurs could have $17+ million in cap space

Why is it that we can't enter the Howard sweepstakes then? If not Howard, I like the idea of resigning Splitter, Manu, Neal and Blair(if the price is right) and then maybe picking up Blatche.

you're dumb

I would not resign splitter for more than 7 mil

Then kiss him goodbye, because someone's going to pay him more than that.

Agree. Splitter will get more than $7M elsewhere...

I like him to stay.
