Timmy, Splitter, Diaw??

He was the main guy who gave us fits in the first round a while back.

Splitter should do it, Randolph is much more physical in the post than Gasol. Timmy will need the rest.

Either Splitter or Duncan. NEVER Diaw.

Randolph cant score vs length (Splitter)
Diaw wont get backed down but hell probably see a lot of those stupid post up foul calls we saw today like Leonard vs Lee

Randolph almost never has to go vs length since he plays with Marc Gasol and teams dont have 2 elite 7 footers
Splitter best asset is his post defense and Randolphs faceup game will be taken away

Baynes? Maybe a little?

Bonner

Spurs da champs

Splitter, I feel much more confident with Duncan on Gasol then Splitter on Gasol & Randolph's foot speed may be a bit too much for Timmy now.

Splitter will get him and then we'll see Bonner to stretch the floor

Either way, Spurs are in trouble in the post next series. Gasol and Randolph will give us issues, regardless of who's guarding them. It's going to take a grat collective effort to beat this team.

Probably one of the Spurs' bigs

One good thing is Randolph hasnt attempted those jumpers consistently this year or last(he effing killed McDyess every time in 2011). Zbo's jump shots are gone. Bad news is he is a monster in the post and the best rebounder in the game tbh. Splitter will take on Zbo. Gasol is a jump shooter and has a damn good turnaround and fadeaway jumpshot. Duncan and splitter did very well against the grizzlies this season for what it's worth.

Splitter. He's one of the better defenders on the team.

In the post, yes. We need to conserve Duncan's energy as much as possible. That means he shouldn't guard Randolph. So that leaves Splitter to guard Randolph, but Z-Bo is both too quick and too strong for Splitter. It's just not a good match up for us down low. If we can contain Mike Conley I think we can beat this team. If all 3 have good series, it will be tough.

The important part will be how we double Randolph and Gasol in the post.

I understand we can 'hide' Parker on Allen, but I think we'd be better off having Leonard on Allen so he can cheat off him to double the post. Green can do the same with Prince, and we'll have to hope Parker can outplay Conley.

Baynes better get at least 10 mpg this series.

Duncan or Splitter. NO McDyess or Bonner like in 11 to go at him.

We'll see.

Splitter is quick enough for Randolph. I'm concerned Zbo will push Splitter out a lot. He uses his weight and strength so well. I saw splitter do good things against Randolph this season defensively. Zbo struggles against length. Duncan will obviously guard jump shooting Gasol.

Theo only part of that statement that is debatable is the quickness factor. Z-Bo is absolutely too strong for Splitter, who is already known to be pushed around too easily down low.

i hate bonner as much as the next guy, but i see this being his series when used "sparingly". i wouldn't mind seeing him take z-bo. hell get his points no matter who guards him.

About being too strong is debatable, but Splitter is quicker/taller than Zbo, there is no doubt.

You know that Barnes/Scrub Green were scoring over Bonner right? Also 2011

Randolph's bread and butter is getting position under the basket for a pass and bucket, and rebound and then put back. He can attack the paint, but Splitter's length and quickness can bother Zbo a bit. Splitter needs to box out well, and be smart with fouling.

keep in mind in that series 2 years back Tiago wasn't in the rotation and we didn't have Diaw. we're much better equipped to play these guys now

No Battier, No Vazquez, two huge huge reasons the Grizzlies beat the Spurs in 2011.

don't get me wrong, he shouldn't be playing more than 10-15 mins a game, or atleast if he is spreading the floor. I guess more importantly i dont want pop to try to over think it and run small ball. I think we can bang with their bigs and out shoot em.
