I like the fact they have a stickied thread with "Grizz vocabulary". We could use that around here (GNSF, HWMNBN, The Centerpiece, The Turd Towers, etc.)

I wasn't sure what CoM was for a while lol.

They want to hard foul TP now. :lol

Now they have come up with a better strategy...

Funny they have a thread praising Tony Allens flop and a "We don't bluff" thread lol.

"We actually played outplayed then in 2 quarters. We have given up 4 thirty point quarters. Overall, we have played terrible and almost squeaked one out. I was underrating Spur a bit. But they had a record night game 1 to help beat us. They should have been mopping us game 2 yet we still made it interesting. This series is mimicking LAC for sure. Hollins made adjustments in between games, let's see if he will do it again. I still think we can win. Last year OKC was in the same predicament, they pulled off 4 in a row. They made adjustments because Parker was destroying them. Putting Thabo on Parker help them win the series. We can put TA on Parker and let Mike check spot ups and cutters."

lol. You should see the "all time best PGs" list one of them made. He had Steve Nash 3rd all time above Isiah Thomas and Chris Paul at #5 somehow. :lmao

No matter what adjustments teams make to stop TP, they cant. When he is taking away your top defender, someone else is kicking your butt. The motion movement of the Spurs offense doesnt allow for TP to be taken out of the game unless you are holding him.

I think I predicted before game 1 that they would be calling for this about this time. If the Spurs win this series in 5, I'm gonna lobby for a spur tbh. :lol

Sadly, there were Spurs fans who wanted Pop to have someone do the same thing to Stef Curry. First time I've ever heard of a higher seed team wanting to do that to a player that was kicking their ass.

I wanted this for them soo bad... I prayed to God every game and every night, but if it is not what He willing then... so be it. STILL!!!!! We were a team humbled for so long and I thought this would finally be the year that we would be exalted. It feels like my heart is broken. I remember the first time I ever watched a Grizz game! It was the beginning of April THIS YEAR, so I missed a lot of games! Almost all of the actual season! But so quickly I fell in love with them, I feel like I've been a fan forever! UGHH, why did I ever get so emotionally involved... this SUCKS x1000.

Is it possible that we can come back? What's the probability? Really?

I WANTED YALL TO GET A RING SO BAD! I turned 17 yesterday and I wished for the Grizz to go the NBA Finals when I blew out my candles... guess my birthday wish won't be coming true. :'( "

I couldn't help but laugh. It reminds me of my favorite cartoon of all time (below). I think it describes the Grizzlies situation perfectly.

They've only missed the Playoffs 4 times in franchise history. Almost every single year, they've finished at the top of the Conference, won the Division Title, and been a Championship contender. None of these "fans" have EVER had to deal with any kind of adversity even CLOSE to what we as Grizz fans have been through. Heck, they're most disappointing season in the past decade was probably when they lost to us in round 1 and even then they won the Division and were the #1 seed.

Not saying they're team hasn't earned it, but San Antonio Spurs fans are among the world's most spoiled sports fans. Wonder how many of those "fans" would stick around after 3 consecutive 22-24 win seasons after being swept in the first round 3 years in a row. My guess is, not many.

Good grief will someone please tell Spurs fans that they haven't been a real title contender since they lost guys like Horry/Bowen and stopped being a shutdown defensive team. I'm not trying to say that they can't win but the amount of arrogance that they show with their aging roster every single year is unbelievable.

Yeah, but these guys are just plain ignorant! Atleast the Clippers fans had a reason to be cocky. They were beating the snot out of us and they have two superstar caliber players. They were just a flawed team. What is so special about the Spurs talent? They keep saying stuff like they have twice as much talent. I don't see any All-Star starters over there! I agree Parker is a bad man and Duncan is still a good player. Ginobili is washed up as hell and everybody knows it. I like how our big three of Gasol-Zbo-Conley are playing better than their big three right now but it's close. Then they talk about their depth. The role players like Leonard, Green, Splitter, Diaw, Neal, Bonner etc...what makes this group so much better than TA, Prince, Pondexter, Darrell, Bayless, Davis? Looks pretty even too me. What a bunch of fools.

Then they said they want to get the Grizzlies fat-***** tired...has anyone ever seen Z-bo get tired of banging? San Antonio fans must be confusing our players with their women

"They may have the better team, but I will say this: being a Spurs fan is the easiest thing in the world. It's been 15 years since San Antonio has missed the Playoffs.

Yes this is probably just a jealous rant, but am I wrong? "

Tell them to stick around for our TANK SEASON in 97!!!!! Tell them to stay around for our Olojuwan beating us up in 95! When the Spurs won 62 games :( Tell them to be around when Utah used to knock us our nearly yearly :( Spurs fans have been through some sh*t, yes we are somewhat spoiled since 99 our real fans who came up on this here are really glad we won this much and went through some hard times ! Very true, we are spoiled fans, but spoiled or not I imagine most people on this forum will be Spurs fans no matter what. I honestly have never been to San Antonio, but I grew up in a family that were fans of the Spurs, and I was 7 when Duncan was drafted and he was instantly my favorite athlete before playing a game in the NBA and he still is today. I know it will suck when he retires, but I will still be a Spurs fan, always will. I'll just have Kawhi as my new fav when Duncan retires, though I highly doubt I'll love Kawhi as much as I have loved Duncan, just different when you see a player's career as you grow up, he's your true role model, and a great role model Duncan has been.

Just because this game was lost, it does NOT mean the guys have given up. I know the men on our team are now even more hungry for the NBA Finals. Gasol hates losing more than he loves winning, and he will be seeking revenge this coming Monday. JB is probably the most competitive person on the team, and I know his confidence is not faltering, only driving him to put the Spurs in their place. ZBO yesterday night after the loss, "There is more work to do. I WANT THAT RING." Tony's faith will drive him because he knows anything is possible. We were humbled these past three games, but we will be exalted. The Spurs have been exalting themselves, but they will be humbled.
Remember the ravenous Grizzlies we saw in the first quarter yesterday? Those were Grizzlies with fire in their eyes, and the Grizzlies we will see the next four games.

Plenty of shit in the world that could be taken care of before ensuring the prayers of some young fans who started watching in April are answered.

It's all fine and dandy to think that God chooses sides in the NBA playoffs if that's where your faith takes you, but where on Earth does anyone get the idea that the Spurs have been "exalting themselves"? Spurs fans have been exalting the Spurs (and themselves by extension in some cases), but the Spurs that I hear from and see have done an outstanding job at keeping things humble, respected the opponent, acknowledged their good fortune to be where they are right now, and don't seem to be taking anything for granted -- all while being understandably thrilled with what they've accomplished to this point.

I fail to see what's so funny about it. First of all it's not over yet. Good for them to be ready to believe until the last second of the last game. I'd do that for sure if the Spurs were in the same position. Second, they are right that most Spurs fans are spoiled and there's a healthy amount of bandwagoners here as well or fans who seem to take delight in seeing the Spurs lose or one of the players struggle. And although there are some great takes to be read on SpursTalk, there are a bunch of shitty ones as well, and clueless posters are aplenty.

Every team has its share of heartbreak (except the Fakers), we were right there last year...

No reason to do that. All of those guys clearly never spent a second watching the Spurs play. A lot of us based our predictions on the fact that we'd actually watched the Grizzlies play every playoff game up to that point. Those guys don't know shit about Parker and Duncan, let alone Splitter and Leonard. It's so funny that the team motto is "we don't bluff" and their confidence at the beginning of the series was based on nothing but false bravado, most of which disappeared after game 3.

If you're on the team, of course you're going to pretend to think this way publicly. But deep down, they know better and everyone else should too: The Spurs have dominated this series, handily outplaying them in all but two quarters (4th quarter, game 2; 1st quarter, game 3), including the two overtimes.

Yeah, I thought about doing it, but they're clearly just blind bandwagoners who didn't know what the Spurs were capable of. I only ended up replying to the guy who quoted my thread here and made fun of it (since I/others here ended up being dead on accurate about it), and to the guy who thought it was easy being a Spurfan because we had a winning record every year. What they don't realize is when your team is always .500+, you're invested every year. ..and get disappointed every year. When your team wins 20-30 every year, it's actually not a big bother since it's expected.

When the Grizz lose in 4-5 games, they'll eventually understand that opposing teams aren't just there to lose to the Grizzlies the one time they have a good year. Many teams have good years all the time and never win. Being good's just a chance at a title, not a guarantee. They'll figure it out on their own eventually.
