Probably won't get this until a year after it's released. I wouldn't be surprised if this cost close to $1,000 on initial release.
I've always felt that PC gaming was superior to consoles due to one simple advantage. Graphics. PC processes faster and with superior graphics than consoles. If you could somehow upgrade your xbox graphics card like you can your PC I think that would revolutionize the console gaming, but I also think it's their marketing strategy. To release new consoles with superior graphics than the 5 year old graphics card. Epic games like Skyrim and the Witcher 2 have a completely different feel to it with max graphics on PC, the console version just feels incomplete.
As for PS4 or Xbox One, I'm leaning towards PS4 if only for one reason. Free online gaming. I'm done paying 10$ a month for a mediocre online experience.

Agreed....Xbox 360 looks so sleek. This system looks dull. None the less, I am wondering how much better the games will be. I was not too impressed by the PS4 trailer.
They'll probably look about the same graphics wise.
The Playstation has always had better exclusive games so I dont see that changing.
I keep hearing this Xbox wont let you play used games. Thats just pathetic.
I ain't buying neither console just yet but when I do it will be PS4 all the way.

What you mean by used games? As in you cant rent games anymore?! WTF?!! That's a direct shot at bankrupting Gamefly

Indeed.
That will screw alot of companies. Gamestop lives on reselling used games so if this goes the way its rumored it will cripple them.
There is also talks about how certain games require you to be online to play.
Microsoft keeps taking Ls. They're taking the freedom out if gaming and making you do it their way.

They stated used games will be supported. There was a rumor several months ago that they would not.

but if I remember correctly, to install used games requires a 30 dollar payment.

they were very vague about a few things. MS is making a bad habit of backpedaling furiously these days.

The game resale market is dominating the industry, if the game companies lose, so does the console manufacturer when that company is forced out of business. They are trying to neutralize Gamestop, and that's all it is.

I'm not seeing what is so transformational about having an app to track your fantasy team. Not too many details and the presentation seemed like a lot of talking loud and saying nothing.

Is there a GOOD reason to call it Xbox One? Like, when they were coming up with the pros and cons for what the name should be, what were the pros for calling it "One" that outweighed the cons?

don't see why one has to pay twice a computer's price for a game machine tbh. i only play classic games (such as counter-strike, hearts of iron, old-version NBA live games etc...) and a 07-produced computer/laptop is more than enough to satisfy my needs. most games produced 2010 or later are not nearly as playable as the classics, their graphic qualities are badass but there ain't anything else with them that appeals to me

There are plenty of deep games available that were released after 2009, but as a casual gamer you aren't gonna know about them. You would have to keep up with the scene and do some research on games that interest you to find the hidden gems.

E3 should provide more information about the console. But Xbox One is looking like a rip-off right now.

Eh, I'm not a big fan pc gaming. I tend to play more retro games then current games, so its not too big of a deal I get an xbox one.

Well fuck a game console altogether. Buy a cell phone.

I'm still an avid gamer, I personally hate the offerings on a Android. My idea of good gaming on mobile devices is Wordfeud and the Pool games..

care to recommend some hidden gems?
i havent' really played many games in awhile. what's weird is i still buy them, but just don't play them lol. least i've gotten better and only buy games when they are real cheap now. i have quite a few that are still sealed and wrapped, but i plan on getting to them.
i don't know what happened to my interest in video games, maybe it's age, maybe i spend more time trying to unsuccessfully chase tail, or perhaps it's the last generation didn't really impress me. I liked the Wii, to a point, but too many games were kiddie stuff (per par with Nintendo). my Xbox broke down after I took the best care of it, so when I finally got a new one I just didn't give a shit as much. I'm tired of all the FPS tbh. I'm not anti-PC gaming, just don't like the idea of needing to upgrade my shit, but if the price is right I'm usually game.
I'm somewhat interested in the Wii U but sounds like it's having a bad launch, which is sad beacuse Dreamcast was a very underrated system and its launch sucked too. I might just wait a year or two before buying a new system, nothing about this new Xbox impresses me, graphics don't always do it for me either. And also, once again Microsoft puts out a generic looking design.

Depending on what system you have there are quite a few hidden gem in their perspetive stores.
PSN has a ton of classics for 15 or less.
For example, the PSN has Journey, Closure, Super Stardust HD, Cubixx HD, Shatter and so on.
That's what I've been buying lately. None of the full retail games do it for me. I rarely buy just any games nowdays.

i'll see if those are on XBOX Live. i am a big fan of the mid-budget games, they are far more in the spirit of teh stuff I grew up on, fun and arcade type games. I never got a Ps4, because I didn't care for my ps2, but in retrospect, I think Ps3 was a better system than Xbox 360.
