View Full Version : NBA: Add a player to your team

Imagine next season, every team is completely healthy on day 1 of the season. As a bonus, each team gets to pick ANY player that spent at least 5 years on their team and bring them in their prime to the team today. If the player is on their team now, say an older player, he could then go back to his prime. Your choice. What would your team look like, and who would win the title?:toast

You don't think that turning steve nash into Magic Johnson, or turning D-ho into Shaq or KAJ would be a greater jump than turning kobe into kobe several years ago?

I wouldn't get prime Kareem because he was older, (not that old) in the 80's....Kobe could guard the Westbrooks and the other quick PG's of today and STILL drop 40 a Night...he would be more impactful...

but you are bringing him in his prime not old(er) KAJ.

For example, the reason that I would choose David Robinson over prime duncan is that current duncan is pretty good, prime duncan would most certainly be an improvement over current duncan, but there would be a much bigger jump between tiago splitter and david robinson than between current duncan and prime duncan.

I think for the lakers I would go with Magic though. The jump from 78 year old nash and prime magic is huge.

I disagree. I don't think Magic's game would translate well to this laker team. He couldn't really shoot that well, and there is no way he could guard any other point guards. I would pick Nick Van Exel at PG before magic, because his game would translate better.

I would go ahead and take prime Antoine Carr to replace current duncan. He brings a lot more toughness which is something this particular squad lacks.

Yeah let's add another ballhog to the team, when instead you could get the best point guard of all time who is unselfish, gets the ball where the players want it, and would reward Howard/Gasol for running the floor.

Don't bother with this clown. This guy wants to hype Kobe's D while belittling Magic's despite Magic having a better D rating, better steals numbers and being a vastly superior team defender.
